Alford Dental Practice Crowned ‘Most Child Friendly’ Clinic in Scotland
A dental practice in Alford has been crowned Scotland’s most child friendly clinic at a recent award ceremony.
Young Smile Dental Care has only been open for four years but it has already established an outstanding reputation.From their first days in business, owners Justin and Jill Young made an effort to connect with the local community and quickly established positive relationships with local schools and nurseries.
Justin and Jill have a young son and another baby on the way, so it was always important for them to promote healthy smiles from a young age and ensure younger patients enjoy their experience at the dentist.
The couple said they were absolutely delighted when the practice name was read out as the winner of the ‘most child friendly’ practice at the Dentistry Scotland Awards, which took place at the Marriott Hotel in Glasgow.
Jill said the team wanted to go above and beyond to offer a comprehensive service and support system for children and parents, from pregnancy right through to the teenage years. The aim is to get children interested in oral health and to provide them with the knowledge, information and practical skills to be able to look after their teeth and gums and keep dental dramas at bay.
The award marked a very successful night for the Young Smile team as the practice was also nominated for ‘best high technology practice’, ‘best NHS practice’ and ‘best dental team’.
Alford Academy rector Moira Milne agreed with the panel’s decision and praised the practice for their work with the academy and the positive difference it has made for local children.
