A dental team from Aberystwyth is preparing to scale the heights to raise money for charity.

Two intrepid teams from Portland Street Dental Practice will be taking on the Welsh Three Peaks challenge on June 10th. Staff members will be completing a 20 mile hike, which involves tackling Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen y Fan, to raise funds for Ty Hafan. The gruelling trek will see individuals cover uneven, tricky terrain and scale Wales’ tallest mountains, which boast a combined ascent of over 9,000 feet.

Ty Hafan is a children’s hospice based in Wales, which provides support for children with life-limiting illnesses and their families. Based in the Vale of Glamorgan, the charity provides palliative care and raises money to help children make the most of the time they have with family members and friends.

The Portland Street Dental practice team is currently training and getting ready for the hike, which will take place in June. They have set up a JustGiving page with a target of £2,000. Within days of launching the page, the team had already amassed donations worth over £250 and they are urging anyone who would like to support the hospice and cheer them on to give as much or as little as possible. The hospice provides incredible levels of care and support for children and their loved ones and the money raised will make a huge difference.
