250,000 Brits go abroad for dentistry

The cost of dentistry in Britain is forcing more than 250,000 people a year to seek treatment abroad.

A survey discovered that around 1.3million Brits went overseas to have their dental woes sorted out between 2004 and 2008.

It also revealed that almost 70 per cent of these treatment tourists were younger than 34.

Dentale, an implant clinic, has since conducted research and has discovered that the recession has pushed even more people to seek dental treatment outside of Britain.

It found that Londoners were the most likely to seek foreign oral health care with a third of all travel tourists hailing from the city.

UK dental implants usually cost just under £2,000 but if you opt for the same treatment on the continent it will cost around £700.
