Would as dental implant be any cheaper than £3000 if I ask different dentists?

Q.
Hi

I am 56 and have recently had to have a tooth next to my front one removed due to infection. I had an apiceoctomy on the same tooth 18 years ago, and then 7 years I had a crown as the tooth crumbled. I was devastated to lose the tooth and the fact that I have to wear a plate. I loathe it and cannot wait to be rid of it. My Dentist has suggested waiting 3 months to see whether I could have a bridge or be referred for an implant. I have decided to go for an implant as I understand from a friend’s son who is a Dentist that this is the way forward. I am surprised it will cost around £3,000 to include consultation fees. Does this depend on Dentist to Dentist – would it be possible to reduce the cost at all? Also, I am a very nervous patient and have always had a fear of dental treatment. Could an implant be done under sedation?

Many thanks

Kind regards

A.
To give context with our own fees, the consultation fees, top end implant system ( astra tech ) with CAD CAM abutment and all ceramic crown would cost under £2500. A budget implant system, cast abutment and high quality bonded crown saves 10%. THe warranty on both is the same, free replacement without charge if first fixture fails to integrate, ccrown warranty for 5 yrs against breakage.
Intravenous sedation is available using a qualified anaesthetist at an additional fee of £145.
An initial consultation is free, to confirm that an implant is not contraindicated.
