Will the old tooth be removed the second time around due to a replacement crown?

Q. I had a crown done on two teeth when I was younger after a bike accident, straight away I went to a private dentist to get crowns put on, they’ve now been shut down and so I’m going to have to start going somewhere new. This is the first time after the accident that I need my crowns re-done. I have no idea what they will do and was wondering what will happen, I’m pretty scared about this, and would rather know in advance the things they might do. When I had the first crowns done, some of the old tooth was still there, for the second time round, will that get taken out? And sorry, was not sure who to ask the question to.,
A. As long as the teeth still have blood supply and they have not been causing you any problems then it should just be a case of removing the old crown, cleaning your natural tooth up a little, taking moulds of the teeth and having new replacement crowns fitted 2 weeks afterwards, in that 2 week space you will be provided with temporary crowns.
