Why are my composite fillings so sensitive?

Q.
Hi,
Several months ago I had an amalgam filling replaced with a nice new composite one. I noticed that several weeks after the filling was replaced I began to get quite moderate sensitivity with that particular tooth, and was advised to massage the area with a toothpaste designed for sensitive teeth. This provided only minimal relief, so I stopped using it, as I thought it may actually be making thingss worse. I am interested in the enlighten tooth whitening system, however Im pretty scared that I may get some difficulties with that one particular tooth, and be in a lot of pain should I go ahead, What should I expect in terms of the sensitivity aspect of this system. Im really interested in going ahead with it, but not if Im likley to be in a lot of pain. Could you advise please.

Kind regards

A.
Deep filling in composite or even shallow ones can get sensitivity depending on how they were placed , or this could be routine sensitivity . Use a non whitening anti sensitivity toothpaste for a while and see if things settle .
If they do not consider having the white filling replaced by another dentists.

Whitening like enlighten could increase sensitivity but is will be temporary and will settle
