What treatment is available for receding gums?

Q. Hi, I have recently been noticing a speedier retrace of my gumline lately – i don’t know if this has been impacted upon by my regime of brushing my teeth after every meal! I am very stressed at the moment, and on the one hand glad to learn of gum grafts being an option to this ailment but on the other very concerned at the average cost of £300 per tooth. My question therefore is this how does someone pay for a ‘gumline’ which is in jeopardy as opposed to just an individual tooth? Are there any optional routes to explore via the NHS and would they (the NHS) contribute towards the cost of a gum graft. Kind Regards,
A. Gum grafting isn’t generally available on the NHS. It might be that you’re over brushing your teeth causing this recession. As a guide our Periodontist reduces the cost if she is doing several grafts on the same patient so it works out less than £300 per toothRegards  andrew
