A. Hi It is possible to use bone taken from your lower jaw as a block- either the chin region or at the back of the mouth. For more extensive grafts, bone can be taken from the hip.

It is also possible to use artificial bone. This saves a separate procedure for taking the bone and comes in a granular form. This bone is derived either from an animal or human source and is sterilised with radiation prior  to placing it in the mouth.
