What is the benefit of sealing teeth to stop them from decaying and how much does it cost
Q. I want to know about sealing teeth to stop them from decaying. What is the benefit of this and how much does it cost.
A. I guess you are talking about fissure sealants?
They are placed on the fissures of posterior teeth- and usually given to children who’s permanent molars have erupted. They are also useful for people who have very deep fissures- these areas are called stagnation areas- where it may be difficult to brush.
The best way to prevent decay is to simply restrict sugar to mealtimes. Teeth can cope with 3 sugar attacks a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) In between the main 3 meals, try and snack on healthy food and drink options.
If you ares till interested in the sealants though, discuss it with your dentsist and get some quotes
