What can I do about my inward-slanting teeth which are twisted and protruding?

Q.
I have teeth that have always slanted inwards a great deal but they seem to be getting worse. I had 2 upper and 2 lower teeth taken out as a child (no braces). My incisors are twisted and protrude either side of my two front teeth which slope back. My bite is not together and I hit my top teeth often on my lower teeth. I am 62 – am I too late to do anything about them?

Hi
It’s never too late. There could be a number of solutions for you to consider and maybe even a combinaiton of treatments. Orthodontics is often carried out on adults these days and I have a patient who is 78 having treatment right now! The best thing to do is to seek out a good cosmetic dentist or orthodntist for advice on what can be done

Hi I also have teeth that slant inward and also my two front teeth were over crowed, they appeared crossed over each other, I was told I was a group 2 or band 2 which I was told I would be a good candidate for the inman aligner treatment, I have the inman aligner for a month now and I think am half way through my treatment. It has work wonders for the two front teeth that crossed over each other, and my dentists is really pleased how fast my teeth have changed, but the slop in my mouth remains just as bad, I already have the outcome impression of my what my teeth should look like . They appear to be completely straight with no slant what so ever? I have been told today by the dentist that this slant will may not change or go away completely. So I am a little disappointed that the outcome doesn’t dictate my impression. Saying that I think that I am half way threw my treatment? My teeth look roughly 80% straight my questions are does my dentist need to change fillings that hook the bow at the back of the aligner in a different place for the teeth to be pushed forward to stop the slant? Or after my teeth are straighten will my two compressing bows of the aligner fix the slant? I was thinking of purchasing a dummy to apply at night to add extra light pressure to the back bow to get the teeth to come forward. Can I ask is this a good idea to do?
