What can i do about my chipped tooth?

Q.
Hello! I have had a chipped maxillary anterior tooth for 7 years i got braces 4 years ago and the dentist never fixed my chipped tooth. I would like to know what treatment can i get?

Thanks

A.
Dear Enquirer,
There are a few options for chipped teeth. Firstly, if the chip is not extensive, we can normally bond a tooth coloured filling material onto the tooth. This is a one visit procedure and can normally be done without an anaesthetic. The second option would involve you having either a veneer/crown if the chip is large. This would take 2 visits, one for the preparation of the tooth and the other for the final fitting.
You need to ask your dentist what would be the best option.
I hope this helps.

There is a technical name for the ridges of the anteriors normally found on primary dentition and yet can be caused by bruxism (though not in this case), but they are the same ridges that can reform after smoothing with a white cone or green even if you bite your lip. After intense neurovascular surgeries and treatment, helping on the side and trying to remember the smallest things are what get me from day to day. If you can remind me of the proper terminology although I think there are two terms, this should be fairly easy and greatly appreciated. Thank you,

I am suffering jaw and neck pain and infractions due to bruxism that had gone undiagnosed for years. The infractions at the gumline are causing decayand the fillings keep falling out. I have an ‘over-the-counter’ mouth guard for nighttime use (recommended on the Bruxism website) – I chewed through the first in 6 months! Is your new TMJ treatment likely to give a longterm solution? How much will it cost?

I am looking for a dentist for my husband and myself. My husband is terrified of the dentist and has what looks like a huge amount of plaque on his teeth. I suffer from Bruxism and have been wearing several different splintsover the last 10 years but my lower teeth are damaged and I wondered what could be done to improve their appearance and prevent my grinding.
