What can a cosmetic dentist do to make my teeth look brighter and my gaps smaller?

Q.
Hi there, about 8 years ago I was unfortunate enough to be injured by a stranger in an unprovoked attack. My two front teeth were broken, one so far up the nerve was showing. My dentist had to perform root canal and I have porcelain caps on the two front teeth and a white composite on the teeth next to them. I have had many problems since then with these teeth but more recently I had a gum infection above these teeth due to my gums being swollen and not being able to clean into the caps properly. After a course of antibiotics and the hygienest clearing the plaque that had gathered above and inbetween these teeth i have been left with big gaps between my gums and teeth. My dentist said there is nothing they can do and I will have to just live with this. Is this true or can I go to a dentist that specialises in cosmetics and have the four teeth (caps and composites) replaced so they dont look as ‘dirty’ and the gaps arent so big and unsightly. I have really good oral hygiene and have never had any other work needed done to my teeth in my 30 years. A response would be much appreciated as it is really getting me down that my lovely teeth will now be like this forever. Many thanks for any advice you can give me.

Hi I’m sure there’s a lot we could do to make your teeth, and your smile, look much more attractive.

Without seeing you in person it’s impossible to give you accurate advice and options , appropriate for you and your sitaution , so you should have a face to face examination and consultation.

The best thing to do is to come and see us in Harley Street, or find a cosmetic dentist near your home.

Best wishes

Mark
