what are the strict criteria for lumineers?
Q. Hello Dr Safeer Would you please explain what are the strict criteria for lumineers? (one of my front teeth has changed color after a canal treatment, prev. it was broken & bleached last year). Also, it is necessary to have all teeth covered by lumineers, or can one sigle tooth be done? Thank you very much for your time and I am looking forward to hearing from you. Apologies, previously I posted a wrong email address. Kind regards,
A. Hi,
in my opinion lumineers only look good in situations where teeth are set in from the rest and you are trying to bulk them out.otherwise they are too thin and the dark colour of natural teeth shines through.if you make them thicker to compensate for this they protrude and also you see a join where they meet the teeth.
therefore i am still a big advocate of traditional veneers in the case you describe,in the case you describe it is also likely that one veneer is possible
