what are emax veneers ?

Q. Hi. I recently had 6 upper porcelain veneers done, but am seeking to have 2 of them redone as I am not happy with them. They are emax veneers. Are these the same as the Mac veneers? I am looking for a type which will match my other (emax) veneers. What exactly are emax veneers? Thank you

A. Mac veneers are just a brand name for veneers made by Mac laboratory.  They are usually feldspathic porcelain.  Emax veneers are made from dilithium silicate and ar one of the strongest veneers on the market.  I am tending to fit more Emax veneers due to their high sheer strength.  The aesthetics are superb provided the laboratory has the creative flare.

Hi,

I really want 4 veneers for my front top teeth and 4 veneers for my front bottom teeth.

At the minute I only have £2500 saved up and i’m thinking about getting 4 veneers done – i’m hoping this will inspire me to carry on saving for the other 4 to be done and help with my confidence.

My questions are :
Should I wait till I can afford all 8 and have them all done at the same time for better results?

If i have four veneers done should i have the top two and the bottom two done or all four on the top or bottom?

is it worth having my teeth whitened first and then having the veneers fitted or do i risk having brighter front teeth tahn the rest of my mouth when the whitening fades?

Could I also get a quote for 8 porcelien veneers.

Thanks alot, great website

Hi I had a full set of porcelain veneers done appprox 8 years agao, due to recovering from builmia and having grinded my teeth for many years. I paid privately , however since then my financial situation has changed dramatically . i understand that they will need replacing within the next 2-3 years as my gums are receding and a couple of them at the back you can already see the cement. The dentist i originally went to has now sold the practice and when revisiting the same business they have quoted me double now to get them all donewhich theres no way I could afford. Is there any training academies that I perhaps could put myself forward to , where i might be able to get the work done at a discounted price, but still not compromise on quality ? Thanks

I don’t think this will be possible but you could speak to a teaching hospital in your area to see if they can help?

I thought the e.max veneers weren’t as esthetic as the MACVENEERS. Please explain.

I need some clarification on MACVeneers vs. IPS e.max. I know that Micro Labs uses both, but that the MAC team are highly trained specifically in the cosmetic aspect. Can I expect the same aesthetic result from the newer IPS e.max Press porcelain as with the MACVeneers? Regarding the shade, is BL1 on the Ivoclar guide the same as OM1 on the Vita guide, and are those shades the whitest available or can the lab customize even lighter shades without compromising translucency and a natural look?
