The problem I have is, is that my lower jaw is slightly longer then my top jaw

Q. Hi Dr, The problem I have is, is that my lower jaw is slightly longer then my top, which causes my bottom teeth to overlap my top teeth by 3-4mm. Im 32 and embarrassed. I hat emy side profile a lot becaus eof this, but I don’t want surgery either. Is there a brace that can help sort this problem out? What is this condition called? Many thanks for your patience.

A. Hi many thanks for your enquiry, you have what we call a class three malloclusion. unfortunately due to the size of the overbite your only option would be to have surgery to correct this. hope this is helpful.

Hi Dr, the problem i have is, is that my lower jaw is longer than my upper jaw. Every morning when i get up, i try to push my lower teeth to the back, but it seems it doesn’t work. Will that effect my teeth or my gums? Can the brace help my problem out? Or is there no way that i can get my lower teeth back to normal? Can any of the dentist help my problem out and what is my problem called?
Thank you very much,
Harry
