The gums has never grown over the bridge so its receeding advice

Q. I had 2 crowns fitted on my 2 front teeth about 20 years ago, over the years they were forever falling out and i had to have them replaced, the last time they fell out, which was 2 years ago, i went to the dentist who said that he couldnt replace one of them because one of the roots had rotted and he didnt have anything for the crown to hold on to so he advised i have a bridge, it was a bridge with the 2 teeth together and they were attached onto the tooth of which the root was still ok, they look ok but on the tooth where there is no root the gum has never grown over the bridge so its receeding and looking black, is there any advice you could give me, thanks

A. This problem is one reason why dental implants are so popular. Surgical gum grafts are one option, replacing the bridge with an implant or a another bridge or denture. Hope this helpsRobif you would like a more specific answer contact 0121 643 0610 for a free initial examination & consultation.
