Would veneers be a good option for weak front teeth with enamel erosion?

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010
Q.

I went to visit my dentist for a check up, everything seems fine except my front teeth are weak the enamel is wearing since I have drunk a lot of orange juice then brushed my teeth so my dentist has told me to be careful, One of my front teeth is starting to worry me as its becoming see through at bottom and sides. I wanted to ask whether veneers would help me on my top teeth?

Is it normal to have no sensation in my teeth and bruised nostrils following preparation for veneers?

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010
Q.

Hi

I’m having veneers done. I had 6 of my top front teeth prepared last week and I now have temporarys in my mouth.

I feel like they are still numb. Its concerning me a lot. I tap on them and can’t feel a thing. If I tap on my other teeth I can feel the sensation. I also feel no sensitivity whatsoever in my prepped teeth.

It’s literally like when you’d wear a gum shield and tap on your teeth through them. That’s the sensation I have.

Is this normal? and will I get the feeling back?

Also, when I flare my nostrils they feel bruised.

What teeth straightening procedures take the least amount of time and do dentists offer student discount?

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010
Q.

Hi. I am 22 and I have a 2mm gap between my front two teeth. I am looking into ways I can get this treated – veneers and 6 month smile. I leave to go traveling in about 6 months, would that be an issue for the 6 month smile option? The rest of my teeth seem fine.
Also, since I am at university is there any sort of discount on dental? Or would I have to pay for it all?
Thanks

What are the possible treatments to close gaps in my front teeth and how much would that cost?

Friday, November 26th, 2010
Q.

Hello, I have a gap in my two top front teeth, the rest of my teeth are in line and healthy, as I have had braces before. But after the braces came out they put in a permanent wire behind the two top teeth to stop the gap re appearing, but it still came back. So i was wondering would there be a cosmetic solution that would just make that disappear? like make it look like its just my teeth?
thank you for any advice you could give me, also if you could say how much something like that might cost?

Is it normal to develop a speech impediment after having veneers fitted?

Thursday, November 25th, 2010
Q.

I’ve had my two front teeth plated with dental veneers. My dentist recommended this as they were chipped and the fillings kept breaking off from a few hours to a few weeks after filling. The treatment was very painful as when he ground them down, it must have went close to the nerve. My face swelled up around my sinuses and I had a headache for days afterwords. Then when the veneers were put on a week ago, they were made very close together and the length of them were much shorter than my original teeth. They said they done this so I wouldn’t break them off. Now they lay in line with the teeth either side, instead of being slightly longer.
I now have a speech impediment as I cannot pronounce F or V properly, whereas I have always had correct pronunciation. I’m embarrassed to speak. I wish I never had this treatment done if I knew it was going to impair my speech.
My query is – is this normal for everyone to not being able to speak properly after having veneers fitted? What can I do to have this fixed? I looked at a website afterwords that stated Lumineers could have helped without unnecessarily destroying my teeth, but my dentist stated these were not as good as veneers and didn’t last as long? Is this true? and if so, how come dental websites can state they last 4 times as long if this is in fact the opposite?
I’m very unhappy with not being advised on what would happen when having veneers fitted, as I would not have agreed to them being fitted. I didn’t ask for them, I was told this was the only option besides bridges or crowns.
Please advise consciously.
