Will lumineers be the best option to treat the damage caused by acid erosion?

Tuesday, August 30th, 2011
Q.

Dear Rob,

I’m 20 years old and have extremely sensitive teeth. Notably, this because I’ve suffered bad acid erosion to my teeth due to the diet during my younger years (As a further consequence, the enamel on my front teeth is very thin). Cold and hot foods/ drinks give me a very sharp and agonising pain. Even when I eat foods that aren’t affected by tempature such as chocolate, I feel a painful sensation that goes directly to my back teeth.

I’ve been looking into Lumineers as a way of correcting this problem. I was wondering because of my extreme tooth sensitivity would I be eligible to have them done on the NHS? I’ve decided against traditional veneers because of the unecessary tooth reduction and the fact that I do still have healthy teeth.

Thank you

I am 17 and have milk teeth that are soon to fall out, what are my options for replacement?

Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011
Q.

Hello,
I am 17 years old and am looking into getting porcelain veneers.

I currently have 2 milk teeth that are going to come out very soon and I was wondering if it could be possible to remove the milk teeth and have veneers put on? And if this is possible how long would I have to wait from my milk teeth being taken out to the point where i get my veneers on? As I dont really want to be left with gaps in my teeth, and if this is unavoidable I dont really want to wait that long with gaps.

Thank You,

How much would it be for a consultation and treatment?

Thursday, August 18th, 2011
Q.

Hi Dr Sunita, I have quite a long question. I have always had trouble with my teeth from a young age from trama to my front two teeth having fell on to concrete steps to bad eating habits causing rotting and holes and fillings. I have an overbite and overcrowding. I would like to have straight white teeth all my fillings made white and maybe veneers over the two front teeth where I’ve had trauma. How much would a conslutation be and could I pay in installments and coud you guess how long it would take, how often I’d have to come back for treatment etc. Thank you,

What do you do when your veneers are whiter than your other teeth?

Tuesday, August 16th, 2011
Q.

Hi there,

Please can you help. My mother recently had two front teeth veneers & whitening process. The veneers were done first then the Brightsmile process, however the veneers are now whiter than her natural teeth. They also look more prominent as they are the two front teeth. I seem to think when my dentist did my teeth the whitening process was done first then colour match the veneers – is there a certain way round to do this?

What would you suggest to rectify this problem.
Thanks for any help you can give

What is the best way to whiten my teeth; veneers, composite bonding, cleaning or teeth whitening?

Thursday, August 11th, 2011
Q.

I’m only 16, but am desperate to improve the look of my discoloured teeth. I have also chippedmy two front teeth, so have two composite fillings in place. I have never had very white teeth, so have been warned that having my teeth bleached or whitened may result in no change. I’ve been looking into veneers and lumineers, but of course each are expensive and i’ve already had to start saving now. Which method would you recommend for me, that is best quality for money with regards to how long they last, and as least pain as possible.

I have chipped two of my teeth, would crowns or veneers be a good option?

Tuesday, July 19th, 2011
Q.

Hi my 2 front teeth are chipped from an accident that happened last year, (one is only missing a thrid of the tooth and the other is missing 2/3rds of the tooth ) i don’t know whether to get Veneers or a Crown done ? I am scared that a veneer will just snap of and that they will have to grind away nearly all of my tooth for a crown. I have also had both nerves removed in the teeth. Thanks for your help

Are my veneers fitted correctly?

Tuesday, July 12th, 2011
Q.

Hello recently  I have just had veneers fitted  as one of my front teeth had died and had turned yellow .Also there was a gap between my teeth which has been closed slightly and the front four teeth have been capped . But now i cant close my mouth properly and the teeth rest on my bottom lip and my top lip sticks out more. The my teeth did do this slightly before I’d gotten veneers fitted but not as much as they do now . Also when i put my bottom and top lips together it feels as if I have to stretch my lip to get it to cover my teeth, for example when you stretch your lips to rub together after you’ve just put a fresh coat of lipstick on. Surely this cant be right ?
Thank you for your time

Braces have stained my teeth, would you recommend veneers or lumineers?

Friday, June 24th, 2011
Q.

Hey Dr. Mark,  A female,I live in Jordan middle east, am 23 with a very bad experience with braces for 8years, which caused badly stained teeth, and i have been using dental composite (teeth facing) for the past 5 – 6 years.
I hate the way my teeth look, i wish to re-size them and make them brighter and get a perfect smile.

oh and i have 2 implants i did them 3 weeks ago.

My main question what do you think is better in my case lumineers or Vaneers? and for how long they last?
Many Thanks,

What is the best way to close the gaps at the front of my mouth?

Tuesday, June 21st, 2011
Q.

I have gaps between my two front teeth and between my right front tooth and lateral incisor, and my left lateral incisor and canine. I want to get braces to fix this. Orthodontist says my bottom jaw is too big for my top jaw, so can’t close the gap. Lateral incisors did not grow wide enough, so there is spaces. They can shave my bottom teeth vertically, push them backwards and close the top jaw teeth a little, but will need bonding on the sides of the lateral incisors to close all gaps. I am not excited about bonding on lateral incisors. I was wondering if a veneer on the canines would be sound and they could widen that tooth instead of widening the lateral incisor. Question – would that look too odd or be not strong on a canine tooth? Especially since the problem is that my lateral incisors are the problem with not being wide enough? i don’t want my teeth to look too wide or unnatural. I want a long term solution.
