HAVE RECENTLY HAD ROOT CANAL WORK DONE, I WENT AND SAW REGULAR DENTIST WHO REMOVED OLD FILLING AND RE FILLED WAITING FOR OTHER DENTIST TO START ROOT CANAL, HE STARTED ROOT CANAL TREATMENT FRIDAY 29TH MAY , AND I HAD TO GO BACK AND SEE HIM ON FRIDAY 11TH JUNE SO HE COULD COMPLETE IT, TWO DAYS AGO I STARTED WITH PAIN WHICH HAS GRADUALLY GOT WORSE, RANG NORMAL DENTIST WHO GAVE PRESCRIPTION FOR ANTIBIOTICS AND SAID NOTHING COULD BEDONE AS HAD TO STAY IN PLACE FOR LONGER SO THAT THE DISINFECTANT COULD WORK, PAIN KILLERS NOW NOT WORKING AND FACE SLIGHTLY SWOLLEN, WHAT SHOULD I DO SEEK URGENT DENTIST TREATMENT FROM ANOTHER DENTIST AS OTHERWISE I WILL HAVE TO WAIT 7DAYS AND THE PAIN IS TOO MUCH,

Why can’t have my dental veneers on the NHS like I did 11 years ago?

Hello, 11 years I had 6 veneers fitted and half of the cost was paid by the National Health. My dentist at the time has since retired and his replacement says I have to pay full price. Is this reasonable, as I can’t afford to pay the full price and I will be left with awful looking teeth. Surely if I was granted National Health before, why not now? Can you tell me if there is anything I can do or who to contact for help,

Hi, my teeth are probably the worst you would have ever seen, I suffer from severe gum problems and dont even go out anymore as Im too ashamed, I dont have much money as I have two children to look after and they come first but I would really like to get my confidence back so that I could enjoy doing things with them. How can I start my research in regards to the possibility of dental implants?

Hi Riten, I am writing on behalf of my father who is 68 years of age. He has had a full set of false teeth for the past 30 years or so since his dentist recommended he have all of his teeth removed?! He has regretted taking the dentists advice ever since and has asked me to enquire into the possibility of him replacing these with implants. He lives in Lincoln and is keen to have the work done as locally as possible and I doubt he would consider anything outside of the UK. May I ask for some pointers on where to start my research, particularly systems/brands that you would recommend and also ones to avoid. Also any particular pitfalls I should look out for plus any other usefull insider knowldge including apporx cost and recommended dentists to perform the wrok. Great site by the way. I want surgery to fix my bite, how do I go about looking into things?

I have mandibular prognathism, which has given be an open bite. I was seen by max-fax about 10 yrs ago and they did not think it warranted surgery. I really do not like it and I feel that aesthetically my appearance would be improved if I had it done.
