hello dr, to give you some context, i have had the 6 month smile braces fitted . I am now into my 7th week and i have really sensitive and shooting pains in one of my teeth especially at the lower side.when i drink hot or cold drinks it really sends a shooting pain which is pretty awful to be honest with you. It’s really sharp and disturbs me especially during social occasions like meals, drinks out with friends etc. I’d like to know is this just the teeth moving or is something hitting the nerve. It’s not sore all the time also when i touch the tooth it feels like its slack and has movement.

My New Braces Have Made My Teeth Very Sensitive, Should I Go To My Dentist?
Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013What Can I Do If My Tooth Won’t Stay In Place?
Friday, April 26th, 2013Hi
I paid for the Inman aligned through a local private dentist which pushed my top front teeth into place. My top tooth has move out of place again and I don’t know what to do about it. I am considering a veneer instead perhaps. Would this be appropriate? I went through the long course of wearing the aligned so I don’t want to go through this again but the one tooth appears to be stubborn and wont stay in place… This seems like the treatment was a waste now which is frustrating. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Many thanks.
As a result of gum disease, I have lost 2/3 of my jaw and my tooth move – what do you advise?
Thursday, January 13th, 2011I experienced serious gum disease several years ago and lost a healthy tooth that was replaced by a successful implant. I have also lost a molar to a root canal that crumbled but I have not replaced this with and implant.
I also lost up to 2/3 of my jaw bone due to gum disease so although I have good strong teeth and immaculately clean gums (I’ve learned my lesson on good oral hygiene!) I have a lot of tooth movement – it changes my bite and I can get jaw ache from it.
I’d like to know if any kind of braces would be feasible or if there was a not too invasive way of getting my teeth to stay relatively still?
Thanks in advance.
Do I need a brace or retainer if my front tooth has moved slightly?
Thursday, December 2nd, 2010I had a filling done on a premolar in august. afterward my bite was not right so i went back and had a bit filed off of it. it was still not quite right but much better than before and became more comfortable. however now my front tooth on the same side as the filling is twisting forward slightly. it has always been slightly in front of my other front tooth but definitely moving further forward. my tooth is not wobbly but i can feel it move slightly if i press my tongue against it. i think the filling has caused my teeth to sit wrong and therefore push this tooth out a bit.
will a further filing of the filling be sufficient to get the front tooth back in place/stop it getting worse? or do you think i might need a brace or retainer?
How long would it take to close gaps in my teeth with braces& what would be the cost?
Friday, November 19th, 2010Dear Dr Patel, I would appreciate if you could answer to my below questions; My problem is that I have a Periodontal disease and I lost few teeth’s. At the moment I have a partial metal denture. Some of my teeth’s are moved and crate a big spaces between them and it look’s ugly. I believe that some of the orthodontic treatment has to take place, before any additional action to my perfect smile. The teeth’s which needs orthodontic treatment are the upper R2 and L2. Could you please let me know how long I need to wear the braces to straighten them and the cost. (appox).,
