Would a dentist remove the two teeth if i asked them and form a bridge to reconstruct the facial smile?

Friday, April 3rd, 2009
Q.
Hi, I was hoping someone might be able to help me. Two of my top teeth are crooked, the right crown is quite bad and I don’t think they would be able to use a veneer and it is quite bad, the left tooth is perfect. The two teeth in question are my right crown and the tooth next to it, this tooth is slightly pushed bad and not in line either. My question is, would a dentist remove the two teeth if i asked them and form a bridge to reconstruct the facial smile, not Bearing in mine the two crooked teeth are healthy so was not sure whether they would remove them or whether I get a mate to pull them out. Braces is not an option, even clear. Second question, due to slight overcrowded in the top teeth if they replaced this tooth in the position it would not fit. So was wondering if they could make the left crown smaller and match the two front crowns so to speak. Would that be possible. Any assistance would be great

Missing teeth implants and widening of arches

Friday, April 3rd, 2009
Q.
Hi Andrew. I have a few questions, I’ll try to be as breif as possible. I have been missing two lower 1st molars (either side) since my teens. My face used to sag a little back then, but not enough to bother me. When I was twenty I had two upper 2nd premolars removed, on either side. Immediately I saw a dramatic change in my face. I gained very hollow cheeks and deep nasal folds. I’ve been researching into this and apparantly only 1st molars support facial integrity, not premolars. My 2nd upper premolars originaly grew kind of behind and inbetween the 1st premolar and 1st molar, as I have a narrow arch. I’m now 34 and I’m fed up with this look, and I’m tired of people asking me if I am ill, or if I am using drugs etc.. I’ve been online looking into dermal fillers, but I’ve also read that dental implants can help restore some lost volume in the face. I think I should get the implants for health reasons as well as for aesthetic reasons. So my questions are: Will implants, placed where my lower 1st molars used to be make a difference to my cheek muscles and facial appearance in general ? There isn’t much room there and I’m also wondering if braces or some similar device would enable my teeth to be realigned to make room for implants. I also have 4 wisdom teeth that could be removed if that would help. Also, with regards to my upper jaw, since the 2nd premolars where extracted the teeth behind them (1st molars) are sunken. What I mean is the arch goes inwards where my upper 1st molars are placed, then the arch goes out again where my 2nd and 3rd molars are. Basically, it’s not really an arch. This means my upper 1st molars don’t sit over my lower teeth when my mouth is closed, they are above and behind my lower teeth. I think this has something to do with my face being sunken, more so than the upper premolar being missing, would I be correct in assuming this ? Can a brace, realign these teeth, push them out a bit ? Make the arch less narrow ? Could this technique Perhaps even make room for implants to be placed where the premolars used to situated ? If the Arch was fixed, would it help my situation ? I understand this is a lot, especially as you havn’t been able to examine me. Thanks for getting this far and taking the time to read this. Yours Sincerely.

I am a classII patient and I don’t understand how that will interfere with me having implants?

Friday, April 3rd, 2009
Q.
I am a classII patient and had all my upper teeth extracted and replaced with a removable denture. The removable device did not work for me for a number or reasons. I told my dentist that I would like to have implants (fixed) he said because I am a deep classII I would have to have my jaw broken to correct my classII. I am puzzled because from all I have read I have no upper teeth I don’t understand how that will interfere with me having implants? please give me your opinion.

I want to get an implant but do I have to wait for an implantologist appointment and then have my tooth removed or can i first remove my tooth and then get an appointment with the implantologist

Friday, April 3rd, 2009
Q.
Hi I would like to have a single implant fitted on the top jaw, on the right sight, second behind the eye tooth. This tooth is painful and I will need to have it removed but I don’t know if I should allow my current dentist to remove it for me and then consult an implant specialist or whether I should wait for a consultation before removing the tooth. I’m worried that obviously, the longer I wait the more bone damage could be caused. This tooth has been crowned. My question then is should I ask my dentist to remove it now and then wait for the specialist to look at it or should I wait until I get an appointment? Thanks for any advice.

I question my dentist about this and he said that in my case it was the best solution since i have so much bone loss. I was wondering what was your take on subperiosteal implants?

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

Dear Dr Moore, I have just done the first fase of the implants three weeks ago, where I have just the screw implant inside the bone. Today after chewing some food I realised that the implant was loose, basically it mooves. I called the dentist and I have a visit tomorrow but I am a little stressed, does this mean that the implant failed? Is there a way to fix the loose of the screw? Sorry for my english. Best Regards,

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009
Q.
I have 6 remaining teeth on top, my dentist says it is time to let them go, lots of cavaties and caps and decay is underneath teeth. so we have decieded to go with top denture with 4 mini inplants. also I have a palate in top of my that swells and has a extra bone, I am not planning on surgery for that but the denture can’t have no palate so I need to know if 4 mini inplants would be enought to hold denture in and if it is ok to have them put in the same day I have teeth pulled cause the teeth wont stay in no other way thank-you

Is Implants the way to go for me?

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009
Q.
My front teeth are both crowns on posts. The right snapped and was replaced with crown on a peg/pin. This came loose after 2 days and fell out. After a period of 2 months and 6 refits I was advised that the root had been damaged when drilled and the crown would not work. The root was removed and a denture fitted (also with upper left 4 – which was lost some 10 years ago) The denture is loose and does not stay in place – I am told this is partialy due to a ‘tauris’ pallett. I have had a consultation with an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon re implants. Price quoted between £4 and £4500. However no correspondence confirming procedure, treatment, costs or after-care is forthcoming. Is this normal procedure and should I proceed.
