I Desperately Need Braces For My Slanted Teeth, How Can I Pay For Them?

Tuesday, January 7th, 2014
Q.

Hello, I’m 18 and working and I desperately need braces due to my two front teeth have been pushed back and bent inwards, my bottom teeth have been pushed to one side and are slanted, I have a chip on one tooth and they’re all different lengths.
Will I have to pay for them braces? If yes, how much will they cost me? And will I have to pay every year or have a payment scheme? If I will be able to get braces how can I set up an appointment for this or will I go on a waiting list?

I Suffer From TMJ Which Causes A Lot Of Pain. Can You Tell Me If Braces Can Fix This Problem?

Wednesday, December 18th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Hughes,
I have a condition with my jaw called TMJ disorder (Temporomandibular Joint) this causes me a lot of pain and is very uncomfortable at times I had a MRI scan which showed a problem with my right side it was not explained well what was wrong with it just that when my mouth is closed my jaw doesn’t sit correctly. They explained that I could have jaw wash out surgery but this sounds very painful. Just wondering whether braces would help with this condition? Also I should mention that my front top and bottom teeth are slightly overlapped. Do you do a pay monthly scheme?

Not Eating Caused My Teeth To Break And Now I’m Looking For A Payment Plan To Get Treatment. Which Clinics Have This?

Tuesday, December 17th, 2013
Q.

Hi Dr Shaffie, please can you help me as I’m at an all time low. I’ve had to have all my teeth extracted except for 8. I am only 24 years old. My dentist has said it was due to me not eating that had caused my teeth to break. I think dentures look awful and I feel like there’s no way forward. I need to pay via some kind of payment plan for treatment but not sure if clinics offer this? Please help, I can’t enjoy outdoor time with my child as I’m embarrassed. Thanks very much.

Are There Any Better Brace Deals Than The One I Have Been Offered?

Friday, March 8th, 2013
Q.

Hi,

I’ve got some x-rays, impressions and a cast from a clinic based in London.

They offered me a ICE ceramic brace on my upper jaw.
the payment is £1147 on the 1st visit then £100 each adjustment time until the completion.

The clinic will need to receive £200 deposit 1.5 weeks prior to the brace fitting.

– Bite raising 1.5 week depending on how the teeth and bone react

– ICE ceramic brace on the upper jaw/outside.

-And activation (includes material replacement)  £100 will be payable on each visit for about 12 – 18 months, so the full course of treatment will be in the region of £2447.

The cost also includes the brace removal and retainer. But I want a gum contouring to.

Do you know if any clinics in London could offer me a better payment plan?
And can I get some dental insurance or a dental loan anywhere?

All the best.

Can I Afford Invisible Braces On Job Seekers Allowance?

Wednesday, February 6th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr. Patel, I am 20 years old and receiving income based job seekers allowance . If I was to get invisible braces, how much would that cost? I’ve had braces before when I was at school and they were free of charge. However, my wisdom teeth have come out and I’ve been told from my dentist that I’ll have to have them removed due to not enough room. So therefore, because of my wisdom teeth growing, they’ve pushed the rest of my teeth slight forward, so I’m thinking of getting braces again so I can have straight teeth. Anything you can suggest will be helpful, thanks in advance

Where can i find a good cosmetic dentist?

Monday, December 10th, 2012
Q.

Hi Andrew, I’m 25 and my teeth are a complete shambles! This is mostly my fault as I was a heavy smoker and liked fizzy drinks. I’ve recently quit both, however I’m undergoing treatment for a medical condition which involves a high dose of steroids and I’m convinced they are affecting my teeth as well! I have a slight phobia of the dentist and untill recently I hadn’t been since I was 16. I had to go in June this year as my horse had knocked one of my front teeth out! I had a temporary post fitted and was due to go back but I moved to a diffirent county. I found a dentist closer to home and all he wanted to do was tell me how awful my teeth are and that I’ll have none left by he time im 30! Well I know that! And to be fair it took alot for me to even go to him, just to be treated like a second class citizen. I’m not terribly well off… I’m signed off from work for medical reasons however my teeth are a priority and I’m willing to spend whatever it takes to have a nice smile! Is there a way I can set up a payment plan with a dentist for the work I need done as it’s going to cost thousands and I don’t have it upfront but can afford up to £200 a month.  Where can I find a good cosmetic dentist? I live in Kent. Thanks.

I need several teeth extracted and replaced but the price is too expensive. What are my options?

Thursday, November 29th, 2012
Q.

Hello,

I know I need to get several teeth extracted at the back of my mouth on both sides but I don’t want to have teeth missing as I’m only 30 years old.

I previously suffered from bulimia and I know the decay stems from that.

I can’t afford to pay all at once as it would appear that this could cost me 1000s. Is there a way to pay this off in installments as I really want to to get this fixed so I can feel confident again?

I’ve heard you can sometimes volunteer for trainee dentist at a discount is this possible and how would I go about it in Birmingham?

Thank you for you help.

Kind Regards

I’m scared that after having braces some other dental issue will come up! What should I do?

Friday, August 31st, 2012
Q.

Hello Doctor Moore! I am a little worried about going to get my teeth fixed. The bottom canines are crooked and when I close my mouth, my top teeth sit over my bottom ones (Is that considered an over bite?) I am worried about the procedure and the pain I would have to endure when receiving dental treatment (I have dental phobia too). I am also worried in the case of just asking for my teeth to be be straightened out would of course lead to having them re-aligned but the dentist finding further complications too. I hope I haven’t confused you with this information! (: As usual we all have financial worries so anything regarding payment options would be great!! Thank you (: (:

What do you think about going abroad to receive dental treatment?

Thursday, August 30th, 2012
Q.

Hello,

I had a tooth extracted as I kept getting gum boils below it. The dentist advised best tratment is dental implant which would cost in the region of £2000. Second option to have bridge which will be anchored to tooth in front and tooth behind as the gap is so big. This will cost me £900. I am contemplating going abroad to have the treatment but not sure because my regular dentist may not want to provide after care should I require any further treatment. What is your advice on going abroad for treatment?
