The prob is he’s only 19 and doesnt have enough money to go to a denist. He has many other bills to pay for himself and can not afford what he really needs. What can he do?

I am wondering if it is advisable to have all these broken teeth removed and be placed by a bridge or implants. Are these available on NHS?

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009
Q.
I am a somewhat healthy 22yo female. I do have a fair few broken teeth at the back of my mouth with i am susceptable to infections from. I am in the process of getting this fixed by my dentist. I am wondering if it is advisable for me to have these all removed and be replaced by a bridge or implants? The back 3 on either side, along the bottom are cracked and only a slight bit of the tooth is left. In this case, seen as there is no other option but for the teeth to be removed would i be able to get implants or a bridge placed on the NHS? Would i be best going to a dental hospital for this procedure? Thank you

I have a crown fitted by an NHS dentist, which has now fallen out four times

I have a crown fitted by an NHS dentist, which has now fallen out four times. On average 2 months after being refitted. It already has a metal pole on it. I can’t afford implants, but is it worth getting it refixed privately.

I have a curved root and NHS does not have the instruments to perform root canal

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009
Q.
I am in the middle of root canal work but have been told that my tooth root is curved and that the instruments used to treat a curved root arent available on the nhs.i have seen my x ray and the root is indeed curved. the dentist says this may be because i grind that side of my jaw during the night. he states he can refer me to a private dentist, but the cost of this work would be around £800 – £1000. is this correct? and could this not be completed by another dentist with the right equipment on the nhs.the tooth has also now cracked and im in need of a crown whereas i was just having a cap, this is costing £198 so i dont really want to be spending alot more than that. could you advise on this please?

I am 24 and have just been diagnosis with epilepsy about 8 months ago. Up in side my top upper lip is very sore and red. I am on 275mg of topamax a day. Is there anything that I might be able to get from over the counter to help. Since my new medical condition I have lost my job and really dont have the extra money to go to a dentist. The cost of replacing veneers is very high does NHS replace it?

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009
Q.
I had veneers fitted when I was 16 to close the gaps in my four front teeth (Upper Left 1 & 2 and Upper Right 1 & 2) after having fixed braces for nearly 2 years. The treatment was done by my local NHS dentist. Now, 9 years later, the dentist who performed the treatment has retired and his predecessor has shown concern with my veeners. He insists I was too young to have veneers fitted as my mouth has now grown and the veneers look odd and don’t ‘sit’ properly in my mouth. My dentist has informed me that new techniques would make replacements easy and that re-shaping the veneers to suit me would look much more natural. This all sounds very attractive but I am concerned about the price tag that goes with the treatment. I was wondering where do I stand with any possibility to having the treatment funded or part funded by the NHS?
