My daughter is 19 how bowen therapy could help her?

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009
Q.
Hello, My daughter, now 19 yrs, had ‘holistic’ dental treatment where the arch of her teeth was widened and braces worn so all her teeth could fit in. During this process the dentist did some allignment work on the actual jaw. The work went wrong and she was left with misalligned jawline. Her chin is not on centre line and one side of her jaw is lower than other and teeth on that side do not touch. She finds it hard to open the mouth wide (cannot eat an apple for example) and has tinnitus. She finds Bowen therapy helpful but the jaw is particularly bad at the moment and we need to find proper solution. Is this the kind of case you can help with? If so, how? If not, can you recommend me someone who can, please? The dentist in question was struck off, and so cannot help (probably couldn’t in any case) and we are desperate for top quality help as cannot afford to get things wrong again. Regards,

Q.
Hi. I was womdering if you could help me. I have recently had all my teeth removed but wasnt offered immediate dentures so have gone without teeth for quite a while. I have had impressions made and have had the wax moulds done. How long does it take from that stage to actually having teeth? and are the wax moulds bigger than the dentures i will have because i couldnt close my mouth with the wax ones and they felt very thick. Thanks for your time.a>

Is bite analysis the only solution to correct the teeth?

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009
Q.
My husband has been told that the way he bites is wearing down his back teeth. He has been told that the solution is to have bite analysis and then something to relax the jaw to its natural position and then build the warn teeth up with crown/veneers so they are in their correct posistions – this is costly and i wonder if this is the only solution? any ideas?

Does the expanders causes teeth to come forward?

Monday, October 19th, 2009
Q.
Dear Dr.Caplan, I’m 24 years and My teeth have had moved a bit forward and my dentist suggested me expanders and bracers after that. So im wearing expanders now (upper jaw) and suppose to remove it next week. But my problem is, now my front teeth have come EVEN MORE FORWARD and looks bad than earlier.(and of course the jaw has been expanded as well and created gaps between teeth.). so my question is, other than creating gaps between teeth, does the expanders causes teeth to come forward like this ?can this be corrected? please answer. Thank you.

Can I hv another bridge done in NHS Plz advice

Monday, October 19th, 2009
Q.
I had a bridge for about 15years which consisted of 2 back crowns a front crown which supported the 2 teeth that were missing on the upper jaw and the bridge was good but it started to come loose and my dentist told me that it was because my gums were receeding so it would have to be replaced so it was with a front and back crown that was nearly 5 years ago but now the bridge has broke off from the front crown, The same dentist has suggested a denture as I would not get another bridge,As dental treatmant is so expensive in the UK I was thinking about haveing it done abroad, So please could you advise me if there is any other options with the NHS about haveing another bridge done? Thank You

What is the ideal overbite Plz advice

Monday, October 19th, 2009
Q.
Dr. Patel, I have had braces now for about 2 years and my orthodontist plans to take them off in a few weeks. I feel I my upper teeth still overlap my bottom teeth too much. I discussed it with her but she just said it was within normal range. A lot of pictures I have been seeing of people that’s had braces have a more flat facial profile. What is the ideal overbite? Should my mustache area protrude out farther than my lower lip area?

The base of the cavity is bit dark after having molar tooth removed Is its normal?

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I’ve had a molar tooth removed recently after it fractured from eating food. I took some photos with my camera to see if it was healing well and i noticed that at the base of the cavity it looked quite dark, almost silvery like my other fillings. Is it normal to be this colour?, could the dentist have just left the lower part of my tooth etc in my jaw? Can i send the photo to get your judgement? Thanks
