Hi Dr Caplan I have been looking at the invisable brace. I haven’t been for a consultation yet as i have always been a little embarrased of my teeth. About 9 or 10 years ago i had a fixed brace, when this was removed i had perfectly straight teeth. I was given a different type of brace that rested on the roof of my mouth. Unfortunatly, i sounded like i had a lisp and being a child i stopped wearing it during the dsay and eventually my teeth moved. My bottom teeth don’t bother me but my top teeth do. The two front teeth have protruded out of the alignment. Would it be possible to repair this using the invisable brace?? Do you know roughly how much it would be and if you can via monthly direct debits. Thanks for your time Rebecca,

hi, i am 16, and my teeth are awful.. i do not want to go through the trouble with braces and just want to have a lovely smile. however that canot happen with my teeth all over the place i would just like cosmetic dentistry and them to be sorted in a short period of time rather than years is this possible ? thanks.,

Can I get braces wihout the use of train track braces?

Im almost 21years old and my top front 4 teeth stick out further than the rest. MY dentist told me that I could have braces when I was younger but said it would be purely for cosmetic reasons and would be quite painful. For that reason I never had them, something I deeply regret. Is there any way of making my teeth look ‘normal’ without the train track braces as I feel im too old for them now and it would not suit for my line of work. I would really be greatful for your response. Many thanks.,

Can I have stained cap reaplaced and treat gapped teeth?

i halfed my top front tooth when i was 10years old. the dentist built it back up but this didnt work so she eventually capped it with a porcelin cap. this was 10 years ago now and the cap is stained and looks old with a visable space between the cap and my gum. my teeth also have small gaps between them and i would like to get them sorted so i can have a nicer smile!,

I am female of 29 years of age.At about the age of 12 I wore fixed braces or ‘train tracks’as they were commonly known and then for not a avery long time wore retainers because i had had overcrowded teeth. To Dr Caplan I am going to be 18 in a week and a halfs time, and have been worried about my teeth and the appearance of my teeth from a very early age. I had “goofy teeth” – which got corrected with braces which i had when i was 13. However there other things happening, e.g.. when i was ten, i fell down and broke one of my front teeth, and had it filled out.. in which you couldnt tell that much that half of it was not real. Hoever when i had braces, it caused an abscess, and the root of the tooth was dying.. and turned dark grey.. and died. the appearnce of my grey tooth this year has been improved by firstly having re root canals twice early this yr, and then a bleaching process which i was quite happy with comparing it to the darkness before. I am now more concerned with the gaps i have around my upper teeth, ( i took my braces off around 3 or so yrs ago- however.. later on after my retainers i was still having problems with my dead tooth…and stopped wearing my retainers only after my orthodontist told me i could stop wearing them) and since.. i have tiny gaps between my front 6 teeth.. and a slightly bigger gap in between my front teeth which has made my uncomfortable to smile ifront of.. and talk to other people. I have thought about getting invisalign, though i looked at the price of an orthodontist fees aroun my area.. and i believe it said from £4,000 which i was shocked to see! .. im still 17 but im sure by the time i would get treatment it would not be viable through the NHS.. to even get braces. i’m unsure on what to get.. and ive been reserching on invisalign.. and trying to find out if it actually worth it, as it is very expensive- i know its hard to judge a course of treatment from an email,.. but was wondering whether you could perhaps suggest one nonetheless and give me some helpful advice. Thankyou and apologies for the very long email!
