Hi, i am considering having veneers to the the upper front jaw. i have spoken to my dentost and he said that i would only need the first four done. I am really nervous about getting it doen but it’s something that i really want done. i hate my smile and am very concious when i smile. I had a bad experience with my last dentist as a teenager and as a result of poor comunication i have been left with a crown on my front tooth. it stands out to the other teeth and there is a black line along my gum where you can see the join. Is there something i can do about this and also if i had veneers would they all develop this line in time? Please help?

My 4yr old daughter has infected gums and is extraction likely?

I have a 4yr old with capped teeth. Her teeth were capped after a heart procedure & a dose of antibiotics, approximately 2 yrs ago. After the antibiotics her top teeth went grey & the enamel appeared to be “ridged” or like it melted away. Anyway the dentist suggested capping, she’s now with a new dentist. My daughter just had a check up & apparently the dentist feels there’s an infection in her gums, caused by one of the caps & wants to extract it. She said my daughter’s mouth is reacting to the material in the caps & this can occasionally happen. I just wanted a 2nd opinion on whether the problem is common & if extracting is the only answer.

What kind of bridge is best suited to allow the gum to heal properly?

Hi,i had a bridge fitted on my front teeth as my crown fell out and root snapped.My dentist fitted bridge last October but feels really bad and i cannot get used to it,my dentist also advised would take my gum 5-6 months to stop healing before he could do anything with this,can you please advise will my dentist be able to rectify this and make it look better.

Are dentures very realistic to the teeth?

HI, 2 YEARS AGO I HAD TO HAVE SOME BOTTOM FRONT TEETH REMOVED DUE TO GUM DISEASE. I HAD THEM REPLACED WITH DENTURES. I HAVE ALSO LOST MOST OF MY GUM AT THE BOTTOM. THE DENTURES ARE NOW QUITE LOOSE AND AS THEY HAVE SETTLED MY TEETH AT EITHER SIDE OF THEM ARE NOW HIGHER, WHICH MAKES ME FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE. MY DENTURES DO NOT HAVE ANY GUM UNDER THE TEETH WHICH MAKES THEM LOOK LIKE FANGS. COULD YOU PLEASE ADVISE ME AS TO WHETHER A DENTIST CAN MAKE FALSE GUM DENTURES WHICH WOULD NOT MAKE MY DISAPPEARING GUM SO VISIBLE WHEN I TALK OR SMILE? Hi, i have a tiny bit of black/brown on 2 bottom teeth in 1 corner of each teeth – the area that meets the gum. I brush my teeth twice daily, use mouth wash twice daily and floss a few times a week. Is this tartar build up? or something else? Thank you

Does gum grafting work for receding gums?

Hi There, I’m 24, and I have receding gums on my bottom two front teeth. They have been like this since I was in primary school. I’m not sure why they are like but I did suffer from a poor diet when I was younger and was hospitalised due to sever dehydration. Anyway, I’ve noticed online a thing called gum grafting, but I’ve not really found much objective advice, mainly just adverts. Can you tell me is this a safe procedure, if it really does work, also could it make the problem worse? Thanks

Will dentures cause speech problems? If so how to overcome it?

I have been told that gum disease has caused severe bone loss in my jaw leading to some of my teeth being wobbly and some on the very edge of falling out. The dentist was not even sure if there would be enough bone for implants. I need advice on dentures as I am only 40 and feel devastated about having all my teeth extracted and I am also an opera singer and worry that my singing might be affected by wearing dentures. What type of dentures might be available to me and will it affect my singing.
