Can My Two Front Teeth Be Filled To Remove The Gap?

Monday, April 15th, 2013
Q.

Hello sir, I have a gap of 4mm-5mm between my two upper front teeth. Can I fill that up using bonding? This is something that I have had since childhood and I am 17 now. It has caused a fair few issues for me. I don’t feel fully able to express myself and act as freely as I would like to. Basically, I just want to delete this ‘chapter of gap’ forever. Please help. My teeth are strong enough so I hope bonding could be an option for me. And I think that this gap has increased in comparison to the gap I used to have during childhood. I don’t have any other problem except this gap. The gap caught my attention when one of my friend told that it has increased a little from last 2 years.

Can I Get Implants On The NHS?

Monday, January 7th, 2013
Q.

Hello Doctor,
top right jaw I had a large mola removed in Dec, I’ve no longer any top corner top teeth im finding it hard to eat on this side of my mouth because I have nothing to bite my food with, and I’m having to chew on my left side, today I chatted with my dentist about an implant to replace the large tooth I lost, he siad it would cost £1000-£2000 for a single implant. Do you think that any NHS teaching hospitals would be able to do it cheaper as i’m not working at the moment and so cannot really afford to pay that amount of money. My dentist said the NHS wouldnt pay for my implant, just wondered if there was anything I could do to help myself, as im finding it hard to eat normaly,
thanks, I look forward to hearing your response

What can I do about my gap teeth?

Tuesday, September 6th, 2011
Q.

hiya there, i have a very large gap between my 2 front teeth and as far as i know i have always had it there. i dont really understand why its there, i always assumed it would close as i grew, what options do i have? i really hate it though and just wondered if it can be fixed and if so how much it would cost and what i need to have done ie: would it be more than one treatment or a course etc etc. would i need cosmetic dentistry or could i get it done at my normal dentist? if the treatment is costly can it be paid off in instalments or do you need to pay all upfront? thank you very much

What are there options to me so I can fix my smile?

Thursday, May 12th, 2011
Q.

Hello Dr Sunita Verma. I have directed a question for your attention in the merest hope that you can help me sonewhat. On recent occassion I have started forming/bnuilding s small gap between my front teeth at the top. I can say that it’s not exactly at the between of the 2 teeth but right from the base of it ( From the Gums and between 2 teeths not reaching till the top of the tooth)
That really bothers me as i touch my tounge to feel that as a cavity . even i dont want my tounge goes there frequently. How do i get rid of this if you please have the time to consider my question and direct me with an answer. I would be very much appreciative if you can. Please forgive me if I give a follow up question as well. Warmest regards.

Unstable teeth are starting to Cross. Can you assist?

Monday, May 9th, 2011
Q.

Hi

Over the last few years I have noticed that the space between my top two front incisors has gradually been decreasing. Originally I had a sizeable gap, about 4-5mm, this has now decreased to the extent where they are begining to overlap. I am in my early 40’s.

My main question is what is causing the change after all these years of stable teeth, is it something to do with ageing and will it get worse?

Secondly what possible solutions are there? since my teens I have had partially errupted wisdom teeth, as well as an extra partially formed canine on the left (assuming you’re only meant to have one on each side, my siblings both had 2 per side)

Any help, advice or information would be very useful to decide what to do next, thank you.

My dentist says lumineers are not as good as veneers, what do you think?

Tuesday, March 29th, 2011
Q.

My wife is looking to have a gap repaired in her front teeth and them restored to their original length and have veneers. We are worried about the amount of preparation required for veneers and so the possiblity of lumineers is attractive. However our dentist says that luminers are just a thin version of a normal veneer and the result will neither be as durable or as asthetically pleasing since there will always be an “edge” where the veneer meets the tooth using the lumineer approach. What do you think. Regards.

I agree with your dentist

I have a missing tooth, will the gap eventually close or should I have something done?

Friday, March 25th, 2011
Q.

I have one tooth missing in the front at the bottom. My teeth are all crooked and need space between them. I feel that eventually the space will close up since the actual space is not that of a full normal teeth, it is the space created form the removal of a crooked tooth. Do u think that it is possible over time(has been 2 years already) that the space will close up if not, then what can I do besides an implant to get rid of the space.
