My four year old daughters front teeth is growing crooked at 90 degree angle

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009
Q.
Hi I have just visited the dentist with my four year old daughter. This was a routine check up but I have had concerns regarding her top front tooth. It is growing crooked at a 90 degree angle. the dentist advised me he is not going to do anything for a few years because og her age. Is this correct? Could this cause any long term problems if it is left this long ? I am just concerned that his reaction is about cut backs.I would value a second oppinion on this please. Thanks

Will I be able to have two front teeth again? Can the gap be opened up again to fit two front teeth? Can my lateral incisors ether side be used to create a bridge for four teeth?

Monday, March 30th, 2009
Q.
Hi Can you help. I’m 31. healthy teeth no fillings. I had both of my upper central incisors knocked out in my late teens. One was saved but the gap wasn’t filled. Unfortunately the gap got smaller. Over time the saved tooth had to be extracted, as the gap is only wide enough for 1 front tooth I had a Maryland bridge fitted. I have had this now for 4 years. The dentist that did the work assured me if the bridge came out he wouldn’t charge me because it was part of the treatment. When I had to return to have it re-fixed he charged me and said he would continue to charge!! This caused conflict and I haven’t returned since. I am very apprehensive to trust a new dentist and quite embarrassed about my situation. Will I be able to have two front teeth again? Can the gap be opened up again to fit two front teeth? Can my lateral incisors ether side be used to create a bridge for four teeth? Sorry if it sounds complicated Any comments would be appreciated Thanks

Advice on cosmetic dentistry

Monday, March 23rd, 2009
Q.
Hi there I require some advice on both cosmetic dentistry and dealing with an anxious ( to say the least ) patient. I’m 27 and I require some dental work the cosmetic part being my front tooth now is slowly eroding and decaying truthfully now it’s getting worse and I’m starting to avoid speaking to people. My back teeth are in quite an awful state now as well. throughout my life being a neglected child and turning for a short period to making myself sick and again truthfully neglecting my own dental health. The upshot being I’m terrified of needles. Over the years I’ve had some treatments usually via force but never found a dentist that has been patient enough to treat me long term. Either that or use sedation such as Ketamin or at least 8 general anaethetics neither of which I was happy with. WHilst I’m not in any pain I do feel I need to at least start seeking some help before I lose my front tooth and suffer other consequences as a result of my back teeth being the way they are. Ideally I’d like to see a dentist who will see me not in the dental chair just a one on one discuss a basic plan with me. I’m happy to work with hypnotherapy (I have given birth twice and self hypnotising not required or wanted any pain relief) When I search I can’t find any in the local area is there a directory? For the interim I will not be able to have any pain relief in any form nor have lengthy treatments because I’m breastfeeding my young son. Thank you very much for your time

Can my overbite and missing teeth be fixed?

Monday, March 23rd, 2009
Q.
Hi, I think i have an overbite, when i bite, my front teeth are further foward than my back teeth and it has made me paranoid for years, i feel my chin line is too far set back due to this and often practice pushing my jaw fowards but it obviously doesn’t feel natural and i forget easily, I did have a brace for about a month when i was younger, it worked by locking my jaw into place but i didnt get on with it, the dentist said he could break my jaw in half and fit a metal rod to push it foward but it scared me at that age! Also, when my dentist did the xray for the brace he relised that i had the teeth that are meant to be next to my front teeth missing (they wern’t in my gums to come down), therefore, my canines grew in the wrong place so are next to my front teeth and i hate them, i am left with a milk tooth where the canine shouldve pushed it out and on the other side, a gap where the milk tooth came out. my two front teeth have begun crssing over too now. i wondered what you would reccomend. Thankyou. Also, i have

my new crowns look really bad and are a bad fit

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009
Q.
Hello, I have just had four new crowns fitted on my front teeth, they have been put in with temporary cement as they are really bad looking and i said i was not happy with them as my last crowns were lovely and these new ones are like misfits in my mouth. They all are different lenghts and are not of the same quality as my last ones, i am a woman of 41 and i feel so ugly with these teeth, i am really worried when i go back that they will fit me with something similar, if i took a photograph in to them of my old smile do u think they could send this to the technician to help give me back the teeth i had, i also have a gum shield when i had my teeth whitened with my old imprint of my teeth. Please help me as i am really worried.

My front two teeth have always been stuck out

Thursday, January 8th, 2009
Q.
My front two teeth have always been stuck out teeth so when I was younger I had a total of 6 teeth taken out but never a brace put on for some reason. I think I have a large overbite as there is a large gap between the top and bottom teeth when closed. I feel that the front teeth are pushing further forward – is this possible? When I wake up I can certainly feel that my jaw isn’t aligned and bottom teeth are much further back. Do you think fixed braces would push the teeth back, but I would need surgery to sort my jaw line out? Can this procedure be done only by a cosmetic dentist – would my normal dentist have to refer me?
