How Much Would a Full Flexible Plate Cost Me?

Thursday, November 17th, 2016
Q.

Hi there. Well here we go. I have 7 top teeth left, all crowned or filled, I have a lot of pain from the teeth and I suffer terrible neuralgia, I’d say due to my terrible teeth. I am at the moment in terrible pain and have a dentist appointment on Monday. I know they will say take it out; I have now got to the point of saying take them all out. I really fancy a full flexible plate as the plate I have is appalling – I can’t eat or speak. How much would this cost me? Would I be able to wear the flexible one as soon as mine are extracted and would they extract as well as making me the new plate?

Do Flexible Braces Cause Speech Problems?

Tuesday, April 19th, 2016
Q.

I wear NHS partial dentures but I find when I talk I sound weird and people cannot understand me very well, they say I’m swallowing my words. Because of this, I only wear my dentures occasionally. I have heard of flexible dentures being more natural. If I wear them would my speech be normal like my usual voice, or would I have the same problem? Also, because my speech sounds funny to me and others I always feel self conscious of getting into any conversations. I am not into implants as I am terrified of the dentist as it is and also I’m going to be 65 yrs old soon and I would rather save what little money I have towards my retirement.

I Have Worn Dentures For Over Fifty Years But I’m Not Happy With The Texture Of My New Flexible Dentures. Could I Have Them Polished?

Thursday, February 20th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. I currently have a top set (8 teeth) of flexible dentures, they have a strange texture and seem furry to me. They make eating most food quite an unpleasant experience. Can they be polished or are all flexible dentures like this? I have worn dentures for over fifty years so I am not a novice with dentures I have had several sets of cobalt dentures which I have been pleased with, but needing new dentures I have read good reports about the flexible dentures but now I really regret not going for the cobalt ones. Thank you for taking the time and listening to my problem.

Are flexible dentures a possibility if you have gum disease?

Wednesday, November 17th, 2010
Q.
I have a partial upper denture that contains 4 teeth. The teeth were lost due to gum disease. I would like a flixible denture but have been given conflicting info from dentists. I am trying to establish if a flexible denture is a good choice when gum disease is involved, can you help please.,

Just had five teeth out still have some teeth left. The dentist has put in a immediate acrylic partial denture which does not appear to fit my mouth, My tongue is sitting on top of the denture tooth on the left hand side and I cannot eat without it cutting my tounge. How long do I have to wait for a flexible partial denture and where in Cardiff or near by can I get a Valplast partial denture and how much is it likely to cost,

Friday, April 23rd, 2010
Q.
Over the years I have been to numerous dentist, one drilled 2 screws into my gum to replace a crown with no novicaine, the other dropped an xray card down my throat with a dam over my mouth. I have valplast partials and was told that teeth cannot be added to it. It is an upper tooth that may need to be pulled. Can you add a tooth to valplast partials. Thank you,

What is your opinion on flexible dentures?

Monday, April 19th, 2010
Q.
Last December my bridge failed, since then I have had an acrylic denture to replace my upper left 1 and upper right 1,2, & 3. I find the denture uncomfortable and it moves around too much. After a consultation at the Bristol Dental hospital a new upper partial cobalt chrome denture was recommended which would also include upper right 6 &7 which have been missing now for some years. After looking on the internet to find out about this type of denture I also read about flexible dentures which appear to offer many advantages although one website said they did not always fit well and were not adjustable. What is your opinion of the flexible denture and which would you recommend?,
