Hi Dr Moore. I am female and aged 63. I have emphysema and I cough continuously, I have recently had my teeth out due to gum disease and have partial plate both top and bottom. I have tried to wear the dentures from May but I continually gag and end up being sick, I am lucky if I can keep them in for an hour. My dentist says he can not take any more from the top plate and if he did there would not be enough plate left to hold them in. If it’s not the gag reflex it’s the cough, please help.
