Is it possible to receive immediate dentures on NHS

Friday, August 7th, 2009
Q.
Hi. A few weeks ago i was told by my dentist that all my teeth had to be removed. I have already had top and bottom teeth out on my right side and am due to have the rest taken out. I have read on different websites about immediate dentures that people have after having all teeth removed. My dentist have not mentioned anything about these and i was wondering if they were only available with private patients. I am on benefits so am nhs. Is it possible to recieve these on the nhs or do i have to go without teeth until my mouth have healed enough for dentures? (not something i am looking forward too as i’m only 36) If they are available to nhs patients is it something that is offered or do i have to ask? Thanks very much.

I had work done on my fangs 3 times now but it is still sensitive advice?

Thursday, August 6th, 2009
Q.
Hi I had FOUR filling redone recently. on front two teeth on right side and front two teeth on left side of two middle front teeth. They all are fine except one of the fang teeth.I had work done on that tooth 3 times now because she left a hole on the side.. and had to redo the filling, then she redid it and got blood in the filling so it was dark! Then she had to redo that again! So FINALLY it looks right and feels right.. except the sensitive/pain part. It is not right on the gumline.. it is like on the outer edge between the gum and middle of the side of the tooth (so a quarter of the way down from the gumline) Its sensitive/small pain when I touch it with my nail only and a little to cold air.. like when i raise my lip and breath in air.. Thats about it. other than that it doesnt bother me.. i just keep touching it becasue i know its sensitive and i want it to go away! I called the dentist and she was saying that she wasnt going to fix anymore and would only do crown! I argued with her since she was saying she had to fix it so many times already. but yet those times she fixed it was HER FAULT! I went to another dentist and he said it looked fine. He just looked at it, pocked a little and grinded a spot that was bumped up on it.. and he said sometimes a tooth will be sensitive. Its really hard to explain the feeling I get when I push with my nail.. soI say sensitive.. but its like a pain/weird feeling. And if I dont touch it it doesnt hurt.

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009
Q.
Hi yesterday I walked under a sign and stood up too quickly bashing my head on the metal pole and biting hard on my teeth. My lower teeth look like they have some fine lines (the left bottom has a 45 degree line at the top and the right line around the top down and up) and I seem to have a dull pain – I am terrified I have cracked them – all the dentists are away on holiday for 3 weeks – I am supposed to start my holiday but am beside myself

Where can i get a mouth clamp to hold the mouth open for a while

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009
Q.
Hello Dr, I need to photogrpah some teeth / mouth and it would be very useful to have a mouth clamp to hold the mouth open while doing so. I have been running unsuccessful internet searches for “Mouth Clamp”s for a couple of hours now and would be very grateful if you could tell me the correct name of such items. I remember using a metal adjustable version at a dentists a few years ago and have seen plastic versions. Do you think you could point me in the right direction – I need the mouth as wide as possible. Thanks a bunch,

My front tooth is little prominent do I need a braces advice?

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009
Q.
Hello, I have spoken to my dentist about getting cosmetic work done to my teeth, and he says I must come to him for a consultation first, so that he will be able to send me to the right dentist. I think I will need a brace on my front teeth, they are out of line, a little prominant and long and crowned some years ago. Is it right that I have to go to my dentist yet again (I saw him in January for an expensive check up), when nothing seems to have changed with my teeth? Many thanks

Q.
Dr Solanki I am a 23 year old female and my teeth have always been very weak. I havent been to a dentist for years because i am so nervous about the outcome. I am at the stage now where I feel the dentist would have some very bad news for me. Four of my back teeth are missing yet only partly and my gums are now VERY painful and distorted. I have pain in my jaw which runs down to my neck and I am very worried about this. I want so desperately to get this all sorted but as i mentioned before they anxiety of horrible news has stopped me. Kind regards
