What should I look for in a dentist to treat Sjogrens dry mouth?

Thursday, April 9th, 2009
Q.
My teeth seem to be “crumbling” like a cookie. I have had Systemic Lupus for 35 years, and have taken prednisone for those 36 years; I am 46; have Sjogrens (dry mouth)12+ years, heart disease for a couple years. What can I do to slow this down, or stop it. Is it due to the cortisone use during the years I was growing? What should I look for in a dentist to treat this? Thank you

i have pain in my left upper 6 is this something a dentist should see?

Thursday, April 9th, 2009
Q.
Hello, Although I’m taking antibiotics for almost 2 weeks (actually it was a week, then 2 weeks brake and now second week) because of a soft pocket above my left upper 6 the pain just won’t go away. To that pocket we need to add gum recession that started when I was 18 but it seems to stop although it goes pretty high on both of my upper 6es. The pain varies from day to day but when it comes it affects my jaw, especially the region close to the ear, the ear itself and gum-line area of my bottom teeth. Nonetheless it always starts high above my left upper 6. Almost as high as I can reach with my finger. Is this something a dentist should see or would you rather advise to see some other doctor. Many thanks.

I have a gap between my front teeth. I have had orthodontic treatment in the past but the gap is now opening. Who or where is the best place to go that does not involve orthodontics.

Is there a dentist abroad who can get my dentistry work done cheaply and quickly

Saturday, April 4th, 2009
Q.
This is really embarrassing for me as i am so ashamed of my teeth, since my ex partner knocked some of my teeth out a few years back i havent smiled. the teeth that were remaining have slowly rotted over time is they were badly bashed. i probably need about 4 crowns and 4 bridges and a few fillings. i really suffer when i go the dentist as my teeth are extremely sensitive and there has been many times i have felt everything when having work done. i have ceased going to my dentist as it causes me much anxiety but i’m in constant pain. i have also had to have a tooth removed thru my throat as an infection had completely closed my jaw which has left me with a nasty scar. i am on incapacity due to severe depression but family would loan me money to get this done so i can smile without covering my mouth. do you know of any reputable dentists abroad where it would be cheap enough so i could have most of it done quickly? thankyou

My question is, there are many cosmetic dentists in my area (Solihull, West Midlands) but I don’t know who to go to for the best treatment, can you advise please?

Q.
I have a tooth missing next to my top 2 front teeth. I had a tooth on a plate to fill the gap but hate it and only wear it when I go outdoors. I have decided the answer would be to have a dental implant providing this can be carried out following x rays on the bone etc. My question is, there are many cosmetic dentists in my area (Solihull, West Midlands) but I don’t know who to go to for the best treatment, can you advise please? Thankyou ..

I have never had a problem with the tooth to begin with and after treatment with my dentist it feels like there is little tooth left to work with

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009
Q.
About a month ago, i went for routin cleaning. The Dentist discover a cavity on one of my back tooth( which has a filling done before) After that the tooth become very sensitive and tender. I went back to the Dentist four time since then. She said the bite was not right and did some filling ( twice). Still the tooth is very tender, and senstive. Now she wants to try some procedure(remove the filling and put a medicated one)If that does not work she will do root cannal. I never had a problem with the tooth to beign, now it fills like there is little tooth left to do any thing with. What do you suggest my next step should be? ( i have been very careful not to use the affected tooth, vene afraid to put any thing in that side of my mouth) Appreciate your help
