I knocked my four front top teeth out approximately 6 months ago

I knocked my four front top out approximately 6 months ago during an epileptic fit and i have since been wearing dentures. Does the amount of time since the injury have any bearing as to whether implants are possible? Thank you for your time.

I wear an upper denture at the moment and aged 31

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008
Q.
Hi there I wear an upper denture at the moment, and aged 31 this isnt ideal. I have looked into dental implants before but have been advised twice now that I have so little bone underneath the gum that I will need bone grafts taken from my hip. Im not too sure that I want bone taken from anywhere else and also the £40k price tag will also be an issue for me. I am at the stage now where I am not even leaving the house, and when Im taking the children to school, I dont even step out of the car. I am on anti-depressants longterm due to this also. It is significantly affecting my life and I’m investigating every area of hope at the moment. I already can feel how loose my denture has become recently and know I am on borrowed time with those, so really am desperate. Any advice you could give me would be fantastic. Many thanks x

I just received 3 implants last year

Friday, November 21st, 2008
Q.
I just received 3 implants last year. Cost was over 5000.00 and was performed by an oral surgeon. One implant failed and the oral surgeon ended up replacing it and threw in an extra implant at a reduced cost. (Total now is 4) Everything healed Great. My regular dentist has had the partial made by a lab. The partial is actually a bridge covering the 4 implants and a couple other missing teeth. He is charging almost a 1000.00 per tooth. Also charging 2400.00 for implant parts?? He called it precious metals? What would that be? He never mentioned that cost up front before doing this work. I feel I’m getting ripped off. The charges keep adding up.

After a tooth has been extracted, is there a maximum period of time in which an implant has got to be installed?

Unfortunately I had a fall in August and knocked my front teeth

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008
Q.
Unfortunately I had a fall in August and knocked my front teeth. The tooth to my right of my front teeth is a crown fitted to a post and my dentist says I have fractured a nerve here. Consequently I have had an abcess and severe pain since early September. The tooth needs to be extracted. My dentist has referred me to an implant specialist but I am a dental phobic – and because I am already in pain I am frightened of the drilling involved with the implant. The alternatives ie. bridges, dentures etc, although cheaper, all seem to have their problems. Can you advise me? As the tooth is so important to my smile etc (I am 53 years old)

About 7yrs ago i was attacked and took a blow to the front of my mouth

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008
Q.
Hi. About 7yrs ago i was attacked and took a blow to the front of my mouth which resulted in my 2 front teeth being fractured and having to b eremoved. I have had a plate in my mouth ever since. I am now looking to have a dental bridge put in place as i cant stand having the plastic in anymore. I cant smile and even some words make the denture fall out. My dentist has said implants prob wont work now because the gum in my mouth has shrunk, so a bridge is the best option. Can you give me an idea of price for 2 front teeth and if the bridge would be better than trying implants. Many thanks

I had two front teeth knocked out

Monday, November 10th, 2008
Q.
I had two front teeth (one of the very front upper pair and the one next to it further away from the centre)knocked out in an accident three years ago. I am 24 and female. The teeth were put straight back in, but despite root canal work, they have not taken properly. I am told I need two implants, but wondered if one single implant might support two teeth and give a better cosemtic appearance. Also, if I need bone implants, will I have to pay privately for this?
