what can I do to get the worn teeth repaired and what would be the cost?

Q.
I have very worn teeth where they meet the gum line. My own dentist does not seem interested in doing anything about it or referring me to someone who can. It is very noticeable when I smile plus I am worried they are just getting worse. I would rather avoid having veneers if possible but have heard that white filling can be used. So my question really is what can I do to get the worn teeth repaired and how much would it cost?

My mouth looks like a sharp mouth can you advice me a fix?

Sunday, October 4th, 2009
Q.
Hi there… I wasnt sure who of the experts to put this question to… so i chose at random! I am deeply shocked to discover that despite regularly visiting a dentist for the last 5 years who never mentioned my gums – I have severe periodontal disease. Although i brushed and flossed regularly i never looked closely into my mouth and assumed the shifting teeth were merely getting overcrowded by my wisdom. Now I have moved to a new dentist and have been informed I have ‘massive’ bone loss and had a proper look at my now twisted bottom teeth which look twice as long as they should. It looks and feels terrible. uncomfortable. and the wider health implications! two curettage have done a lot to improve the health of my gums and my periodontist – i go to Poland because i cannot afford the uk at present says she is much more optimistic about the future of my teeth than she was at first, she was shocked. i am only 35. I understand that slowing and stopping the disease is my priorit of course. however i wonder IF and when this is achieved… if anthing can be done to improve the discomfort and the cosmetic appearance with gum grafting and bone etc… i have tried to research and get confusing information which says different things.. also the different dentists i have seen have been vague and contradictory to each other. any advice you may be able to give on this matter would be greatly appreciated. my mouth looks like a sharks mouth.. must it stay this way forever? many thanks

Would dental implant be suitable for me what would be the cost of it?

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009
Q.
Hi Andrew, I had my front tooth knocked out 6 years ago and it was put back in the same day. Subsequently I had a wire placed across my front teeth for about six months. Since then i have continually had problems with the root, infections, and now my tooth ranges from being normal to very wobbly. I haven’t been able to bite down on it for about eight months now due to the pain and constant fear it will fall out. I was advised by my dentist it may be another infection so i was issued with antibiotics to see if this would clear the infection and let the enamel harden, however this doesn’t appeared to have worked as the top of my tooth is discoloured and beginning to wear away. I also have an unpleasant taste in my mouth, possibly where the tooth is rotting? Could you please advise me whether a dental implant would be suitable and how much this would cost me through the NHS? Many thanks,

Do you know of any insurance plan that can cover dental implants?

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009
Q.
I am 24, and still have 3 milk teeth, as I have no adult replacements to push them out. My dentist tells me that in “middle age” my milk teeth may eventually reach their maximum lifespan and fall out. Do you know of any insurance plan, or any way I can insure for the cost of this happening, to avoid the potential high cost related to having 3 dental implants?

Is it true that they don’t make 8 mm dental implant posts?

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009
Q.
I live in Canada and am about to have a second tooth implant. (the first has been very succesful). My dentist tells me that I will need an 8mm implant post but the largest made is 6mm. He plans to insert the 6mm and wait 6 months for the bone to grow around the post. Is it true that they don’t make 8 mm posts?

Cant I just not have anything done and be ok with my missing teeth

Friday, October 2nd, 2009
Q.
I had a tooth come loose, a root canal was done in that area 23 years ago, and it was removed and decay was detected. It was cleaned out and it was recommended I look into an implant rather than a bridge. I would rather do neither since it is in a spot in my mouth(#29) that you cannot even see the area where the tooth is missing. Can’t I just not have anything done and be ok if I am willing to live with the gap in my back teeth area?????

I may need get a bridge for my missing teeth what would be the cost of the job

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009
Q.
Hi Just to give you a background of my teeth; I have had my 2nd Molar removed a few years back due to decay which unfortunately infected the 1st molar. The 1st molar has now broken up and needs to be taken out at the root due to extensive decay. i understand it is hard to do a diagnosis without an appointment; however from what I can see, I may need a bridge to cover the missing teeth. My concerns are the size of job needed, the use of General anesthetic and the potential cost of the job.
