Can bridge be done sooner as wearing dentures affects my talking too much?

Friday, December 21st, 2012
Q.

hi there. 5 of my front upper teeth are crowns, they have knocked and kicked through sport for years. i’m 40 now and the front right socket in my gum that the spike part used to be stuck back into was fractured and has had to be extracted. my dentist is now going to bridge but has said this will take 6 months to heal. my question is can this be done sooner as I own a pub and find it so difficult talking to customers with this plastic denture in my mouth. sorry for the long winded story. thanks

Is there ever a need to place an amalgam filling in the lingual fossa of a later incisor which is a pontic?

Thursday, December 6th, 2012
Q.

Is there ever a need to place an amalgam filling in the lingual fossa of a later incisor which is a pontic because this was done for me by my dentist when I complained of pain in that area?

Also I was told by another dentist that i would have to remove my bridge to get to the root of my pain problem in the area of my bridge as nothing came up on the x-ray. If I was to have my bridge removed, considering my abutment teeth on either side have had enamel removed in preparation for my first bridge, would it be possible to use them for anchoring teeth if a new bridge was to be placed?

Thank you in advance for your help. It is highly appreciated.

What would be my best option to replace my dental crowns?

Friday, November 30th, 2012
Q.

Hi
I have two crowns fitted at the top of my mouth which are next to each other the right side of my two front teeth and they both keep coming off from time to time and I either swallow them or manage to get them in time I would like to know what would be my best option replace them with crowns, bridge or a plate. I am a nervous patient and want the simplest answer to this. Without too much work going on in my mouth.

Would it be possible to have a dental bridge?

Friday, November 9th, 2012
Q.

Hi,

I had my second molar tooth extracted last year. My dentist told me I would have to wait a year before I would be able to have a replacement tooth fitted. I am enquiring about bridges as I really want one fitted because I am worried my teeth might start to separate and I also have difficulty eating on that side of my mouth. I have researched a bit into bridges, but only the third molar tooth next to the gap is healthy, the first molar has a root canal and large filling in place. Is it still possible to have a bridge fitted? I don’t really want implant surgery because I don’t like the idea of nerve damage and dentures sound horrible.

Thanks for any help and advice that you can offer me and I am looking forward to your reply.

What is the best method for correcting spaces between my central incisors and canine teeth?

Wednesday, October 31st, 2012
Q.

Hello doctor, I wondered if you could help me? Firstly I don’t have my lateral incisor teeth (they never appeared) and secondly I have gaps between my central incisors and canine teeth (gaps evenly spread). I don’t want any gaps anymore I’m 39 and would like this resolved as quickly as possible as it is getting me down  – what would you say is the best method to get this resolved – veneers/bridge/crowns – and an approximate cost would be great. And how long the process would take for example would it be 4 weeks or 6 months? Thank you for your advice in advance, I just need a general idea.

Is there any way to get a replacement tooth before I have brace treatment?

Tuesday, October 16th, 2012
Q.

I’m in the process of having some bracers fitted to straighten my teeth, today i was given the normal check over and x-ray only to find that that I have still got 1 baby tooth on the upper right side next to my front 2 teeth. It doesn’t look like there is an adult tooth underneath and my dentist thinks with the braces this baby tooth will fall out as it’s already a little loose.

At 31 years old I didn’t think this would happen, is there any way to get a replacement tooth in the same spot to make my smile look even and would it involve a lot of work? I know it’s hard to say without looking at the x-ray and my teeth but is there ways of correcting this? My own dentist has stopped going forward to redo my smile plan, i’m worried it’s going to cost more money which i can’t afford (already at 4k)

Any advise on this matter is most welcome.

Many Thanks

Iain

My crowns look fake, it’s really getting me down so what should I do?

Friday, September 14th, 2012
Q.

Hello, I just wondered if you could help me something that has been bothering me for a while? When I was about 14 my dentist suggested I got caps for the teeth either side of my two front teeth because they were small & pointy. I’ve since been back 3 times to get my caps re-done because they looked awful, wrong colour, don’t fit, crooked, very obvious. I now am left with two horrible (quite blatantly obviously fake) looking teeth! I now have a tooth growing behind one Of my capped teeth so I am unsure of what that will do. I can’t imagine my teeth would look any worse than they already do. Is there anything I can do which won’t cost me an arm & a leg? I’m fed up of having to have the caps replaced, it’s really getting me down. Thank you in advance!

Am I suitable for bridges? Will they be better for me than dental implants?

Friday, September 14th, 2012
Q.

Hi, i was born with a few missing teeth, so I have braces now, so they can arrange the teeth that i already have to be put in their right places. I can’t wait to finally have that beautiful smile and healthy mouth that iv always wanted. Now i have 2 choices either bridges or implants. I defiantly want bridges but on the bottom part of my teeth and on the front part, i have 4 missing teeth all in one row, but i do have teeth on each side but in the middle their are 4 missing so can i have bridges and if yes will it be good for me and well basically work well?
