I have just been through the process of volunteering

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010
Q.

I have just been through the process of volunteering at leeds dental institute and was promised after all my appointments i was gauranteed to have my teeth straightened for free.

I never got chance to get a brace when i was younger and i am now 20.

Today at my orthodontics appointment i have been told my teeth are not bad enough for treatment at the institute, so i have returned to look for private care.

My teeth are moderately-severe crowded top and bottom, and i have a overjet of about 6mm. my top centre line is correct but my bottom is 1mm to the left.

What would you suggest would be the best brace for me?
I would preferably prefer something relatively cheap and maybe something less discreet that traditional braces if possible

What would be the cost of implants, bridging and whitening?

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010
Q.

I’ll probably need an implant, brigdging and whitening. Please could you give me some indication of costs if I decide to employ your services? Also is there a payment plan for people that might not be able to pay upfront?
Having this information will save your time and mine.
thanks

Do I need my bottom teeth moved in order to align my upper teeth?

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010
Q.

Hi, my two front teeth misalign a little bit (less than 2mm). I went to see the dentist today and he said my case is qualified and would take about 6-8 weeks. However, if I were to have an inman aligner treatment, he will have to push the lower teeth back to have room. Therefore, the cost of the treatment is double from £995 per arch to total £2,200. I just would like to see your point if it’s always necessary that the dentish has to push the lower teeth first before pull the upper front teeth? I just don’t want to be over charged if there are alternative more affordable price that give the same result. Please kindly advice. Thank you.

My routine x-ray at dentist showed an infection in my molar teeth but the dentist said there’s nothing to worry about. Is this true?

Friday, November 12th, 2010
Q.
I have just been for a routine check up and on xray of a suspect tooth found that I have cronic infection of 3 of my molar teeth which had been root treated about 10 years ago all at the same time. Two were filled and one was crowned. I have had no systems from these teeth since they have been root treated. My dentist has told me that as there are no systems not to worry about it and leave the teeth alone. I am quite concerned about what i have been told. I am right to just leave them or should they really be re-root treated. I would be grateful for your comment,

Are train track braces the best option to move my teeth forward, and is surgery the only way to correct lower jaw alignment?

Wednesday, November 10th, 2010
Q.
I am 24 years old and I want to straighten my bottom teeth as they have been pushed back from sucking my thumb as a child. My top teeth are fine. I had an intial consultation with an orthodontists who has informed me i will need train tracks braces for approximately 6-12 months as other braces are not suitable for the type of movement needed. I have been quoted between £3500 and £4000 plus another £400 for inital x-rays and pictures to determine exact tretment needed. Is this price about right? i was thinking it would be more like £2500 all in so was wondering whether to pay for a second consoltation elsewhere? (i live in south of England- Southampton area). Could you give me an indication of price (i know cases vary)? Also he said my lower jaw has slightly moved back and to get a perfect alignement this would need to be corrected- is surgery the only method? if it is i am not interested in having this done.,
