I Have Been Quoted The Sum Of £1000 For Two Fixed Bridges. Is This A Fair Price?

Monday, May 19th, 2014
Q.

Dear Mark. I have been quoted the sum of £1000 for two fixed bridges on the upper teeth. Is this a fair price? I am returning to my dentist today to get a breakdown of the costs involved.
My jaw is not suitable for implants.
Could you suggest any other options for replacing these teeth please? Also how long does a dental bridge last as I am concerned that I may have to pay this amount of money again in a few years.
Thank you.

If A Trainee Gives Me Orthodontic Treatment Will I receive It At A Reduced Cost?

Thursday, July 18th, 2013
Q.

Hello, Please could you tell me the best way for the 6mm gap between my front teeth to be closed? Its really started to affect my confidence and very rarely want to smile,I am 45 years old, wore a metal brace as a teenager which successfully worked, but then never wore a retainer. I read that being seen by a student/trainee, costs for treatment are reduced. Or would this kind of treatment have to be carried out in a training hospital? I would appreciate some professional advice, I’m desperate to receive some treatment but don’t earn a lot of money so that’s why I’m trying to opt for a cheaper form. Unless you can recommend some sort of financial scheme I can get a hold of? As I said, I would love some advice. So, thank you for your time.

Are There Any Cheap Treatments Available That Can Fix Overlapping Front Teeth?

Thursday, May 2nd, 2013
Q.

Hi,

I would like some advice please,my two front teeth are crossed and overlapping slightly. one of them is pushing down on the other and pushing it back. They have been like this for as long as I can remember now and they make me feel very self conscious. I have just applied to study drama at university and intend to become an actor when I have left so I would like them fixed as soon as possible. Please bear in mind that my other teeth are fine, well as far as I know. What would be the best treatment to correct this? My main focus is the two front teeth, not the whole set, can you get braces or whatever to treat just two teeth?. I don’t have a great deal of money to spend as I am a student (I am due to finish sixth form this summer). Any advice or recommendations would be great. Thank you,  kind Regards.

Is my local dentist’s cheap veneer treatment too good to be true?

Monday, January 23rd, 2012
Q.

Dear Dr Patel

I recently saw a deal on the net for Parkdent Clinic in Kensington, 4 veneers for £939. I thought the deal sounded too good to be true but to be honest I know very little about cosmetic dentistry. I have an appointment with this clinic on Friday but have been giving my teeth a lot of thought these past few days and I realise that I need to do some research before I go jumping into getting my teeth done because it’s a a cheap deal. The quality of the veneers is more important to me although I don’t have a lot to spend.

My 2 front teeth have a gap and the teeth either side are under-developed. I would like to replace these with veneers. £939 sounds like a great deal but is this not too good to be true? Are porcelain veneers the best option for me?

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Can you recommend treatment to straighten crooked teeth?

Friday, February 18th, 2011
Q.

Hi, I was never referred to an orthodontist as a kid although my teeth were crooked. I’d had teeth out to make room for another one to grow down but it never has and sticks out into my lip. The older iv got the worse my confidence has become. I am now 20years old and I hate smiling infront of people and avoid meeting new people and feel I my smile let’s me down. Iv been looking at lingual braces but have found they are to expensive. Do you think I would be able to have them or have something done on the nhs? And do you think braces are the best option for me?.
