Q.
Hi Dr Solanki, I have had 3 sets of veneers in total. I decided to get veneers 15 years ago because I had stains on my top middle two teeth and after feeling very self conscious throughout my teens, I decided to get the top 6 done to make sure they were all the same colour. I got the first set of veneers replaced after 14 years because the colour wasn’t as bright and I wanted them whiter. I went to a new dentist who did the veneers in a shade that I hated. He didn’t even ask me what colour I wanted, he just told me the shade number (A2). (The first dentist put a colour chart next to my mouth and asked me what shade I would like and I expected this new dentist to do the same). I then lived with the horrible A2 for two years before going back to bleach the bottom teeth and asking him to redo the top to then match the bottom. After I get my teeth filed down again (for the 3rd set of veneers) I ask him what shade he has ordered for me, he shows me A1 and tells me that it will be really white. I then wait for 3 weeks and finally go get the new veneers on and now the bottom teeth are lighter than the top! I’m in despair!! I pointed out that they don’t match the bottom and he tells me he doesn’t have a shade lighter than A1. I’ve looked on the internet and know that there are in fact shades a lot lighter than that! So my question to you is: I’ve now had my teeth veneered 3 times – is it ‘safe’ to have them done again? How many times can you do this to your teeth? Thanks very much in advance!,
