Should my daughter have healthy teeth removed for ortho work?

Q.
Hi,
My daughter has overcrowded teeth and we have been told by the dentist and orthodontist that she will need teeth extracted. Since then I have been told by a friend who claims to have done a lot of research that healthy teeth should never be removed. Can you tell me whether I should say no to the extractions.
Thanks
A.
Sometimes it’s the only way to make space in very crowded mouths so there is no hard and fast rule

2years ago i had my fixed brace removed and was required to wear a retainerat night. However – i am still experiencing movement in my front 4 teeth -which i am unhappy about – as being 20 i dont want to rely on my retainer;so would like a more permanent solution. I am living in Coventry for university and can no longer visit my orthodontist at home, so i was wondering if i could be help in any way. If you could provide me with prices and information about whether i could be helped, this would be much appreciated. Thank you.
