Should I get my orthodontic treatment privately?

Q. Hi,  I am only 17 years of age, I have moved alot and missed out on many chances of having a brace, and now the orthodontic has told me I will have to pay loads to get my teeth straight and that Im now waiting another 2 years or so. The problem with my teeth is that the teeth beside my two front teeth have pushed back behind my front teeth at the top. I feel as though I am giving up with myself all because I havent got straight teeth, All my other teeth seem to be perfect I just dont know what to do. should I just go to a dentist and have them done to save waiting around for the orthordontic now that I know Ill have to pay anyway?

A. The general dentist is unlikely to be able to treat your problem on the NHS.  There is unlkey to be any free solutions available to you.  Many dentists offer invisalign privately that will allow you to have your teeth straightened now.  You would have to be assesed to see whether you are a good candidate for this.
