several years ago I had two veneers fitted to my front

Q. Several years ago I had two veneers fitted to my front teeth to help give them a straighter look (they sloped backwards) and an upper crown and it much improved the look. However they have fallen off so many times over the years and I dont eat anything that I have to bite down on. My dentist is NHS and says she will fit crowns for me but after the veneer experience I am not sure what to do. Can you advise me. Also the gum line over the crown is now showing the metal post and I would like to avoid that.

A.

Sorry for the delay during my annual leave

Veneers should generally be more retentive than your experience to date, it sounds like a cement / glue failure. If it was a design fault the most obvious failure would be fracture. You would need a clinical assesment to guide you as to the best solution.
