Q. I have a dental problem which is diagnosed as dentitious cyst in one of the the leading teaching hospital hospitals in ghana. X-ray films shows that part of the jaw bone is eaten off. I have been prepared for surgery which would due on June 18, 2009. Please give me insight about the condition, risks and treatment period. I hope you will have time to attend to this. Thanks

A. Cysts are growths which eat away at the bone.  Once the cyst is removed the void is filled with a packing it really depends on the size of the cyst to the extent of damage.  They can re-occur.
