My twisted tooth has just started bleeding, can the NHS replace the tooth with a crown?

Q. Hello, I have an inward twisting tooth (upper right lateral incisor) and recently it has started to randomly bleed and cause discomfort. I was wondering if the NHS would replace this tooth with a gold crown?,
A. Because the tooth is leeding, this suggests that you have the onset of gingivitis- or a more localised gum condition. This is an issue with the gum surrounding the tooth- and not the tooth itself. When you have a gum problem, it is not recommended that you have any crowns until the condition has improved. Ideally, you need to get a full assessment with your dentist to point you in the right direction of what treatment you actually need.
