My tooth is wobbly from an accident and I don’t want to lose it, what can I do?

Q. Dear Mr Moore About a year ago I had an accident at home. My girlfriend accidentally hit me in the mouth. We were dancing and she fell; as I was helping her up, she saw me and inadvertently hit her against my mouth. It bled a lot and I was in a lot of pain. My front tooth was affected and now I cannot eat anything that is a little hard because the tooth wobbles and I am very afraid of losing it. I do not want to continue suffering. At the time of the accident I went to an emergency dental hospital and they put me a temporary guard to hold the tooth together but after one month it broke. I have been in this situation a long time and I would like to get this tooth fixed. Please can you make some comments about my situation. I look forward to hearing from you.
A. Hello, it sounds like the guard was only meant to be there for a few weeks, after which the tooth should have been treated permanently. If the tooth is still loose after a year there is a good chance it may need removing and replacing. see a dentist ASAP for a proper examination and all your treatment options.
