My tooth cap came out and my dentist said it was normal for it to come out so soon. Is he lying?

Q. Sorry to bug you but I had a tooth cap put on in 2008 and it came off like 2 weeks ago 2010 and I cant find it. The dentist that I go to said that it’s normal that it comes out so soon. I do the best to take care of my teeth. I just think that they are lying to me. Please get back soon.,
A. It normally should last at least 5 years so ask your dentist to take another look
