My temporary crown fell off and I managed to swallow it. Should I see the dentist immediately?
Q. I had a root canal done and my dentist fitted me with a temporary crown. I was eating and the crown came off and I swallowed the temp. My appointment is in 5 days to get fitted for the permanent crown. One is it ok to wait til my appointment for my dentist to look at it and two aside from my regular brushing and flossing is there anything special I should do or avoid. Thank you,
A. I would phone your dentist and advise him you have lost the temporary crown, he may want to see you to fit a new one as the teeth can start to move. Just keep up with your regular hygiene.
