my teeth stick out will lingual braces fix this

Q. Hello, I have never had braces, had veneer fillings to close gaps to give an illusion of a straighter smile, i am now interested in gum reshaping and fixing my over bite, without braces my top teeth are nearly 1 cm infront of my bottom, would the Lingual Braces be able to fix an over bite? what can u suggest? thankyou

A. Hi,

Its difficult to assess fully what treatment you require, but essentially any form of orthodontics alone may not be able to correct the position of the teeth. You may need surgery to resolve the discrepancy.

Lingual braces advantages over any other form of brace may not be noticable, if at all having any advantages.

I suspect a combination of orthodontics and crowns/veneers may get you the result you wish.

Individual cases do differ, and opinions between orthodontists differ. One thing agreed is that lingual braces are technically demanding. I would recommend a couple of opinions from specialist orthodontists in your area.

The problem I had is that my bottom half of my tooth were squahed and not in line which makes the bottom half of my tooth in particular the frontly 6-8 uneven, wy wisdom tooth are all fine. I had a consultation and was advised that Invisible STb Social 6 Lingual Braces. In September following my consulatation I had STb 6 Inivisiline braces. after less than 4 weeks of the procedure the wire fell out, this was redone after 3 weeks and wire has come undone again is the normal? Kind regards

I don’t think this normally happens, ask your orthodontist to see what they think, the wire might need tying in differently

am 27 yrs old. My top teeth mainly my two front one have been pushed out too far by the teeth at the side. I missed the opportunity to have braces as a teenager coz my parents. Never took me. Am currently on maternity leave with my daughter aged 4 months. And was wondering if being on mat leave would help with the costs of dental treatment privately? I’d really appreciate u getting bk to me. Thanks

You may qualify for some NHS treatment but your maternity benefit won’t count towards any private treatment
