My root canal treatment has been suspended as I am pregnant, but it really hurts, is this normal?

Q.
Hi, I am in the middle of having root canal treatment. I am 28 weeks pregnant. The treatment was needed as it was badly inflamed. The nerve was taken out and 6 weeks later it has been cleaned and I have had antibiotics. My dentist says we will finish it when I have had baby as I can have xrays. However I am still having pain. It is not sore to touch, but I get twinges of fairly low pain all the way to a very strong pang of pain in it which radiates slightly up my jaw. Should I go back or is this normal? It is a back lower molar. Many thanks
A.
Hi
I would suggest you speak with your dentist to have him ‘re-dress’ the tooth ie remove the temporary filling and rinse the tooth out and place a new temporary cream and filling. Then as he says complete the treatment after you have had the baby.
