my root canal teeth became quite discoloured would veener be a suitable solution?

Q. One of my front teeth has had root canal treatment afew yrs ago as a result of killing the nerve in a fall. It became quite discoloured and i have had internal bleaching but it still isnt quite light enough as the hole in the tooth is making it darker. I am also concerned about the thinness of the tooth and worry that it might shatter. – would a veener be a suitable solution? many thanks

A. After root canal treatment, we would advise that the toot be crowned for protection. A veneer may not be a good option- as the underlying tooth colour could shine through and appear sightly ‘grey’
Having a crown could solve this issue. I would however, recommend that you see a cosmetic dentist for this treatment- as the best easthetics can be achieved.

I have been having treatment for a root cancal on two teeth. My dentist believes that white fillings will be best for these teeth is this the cas as I am aware that crowns may be best. Also a fracture tooth needs repaired. She believes that white filling will be best. Is this also the case? Due to my previous illness of anorexia and bulima for over ten years this has erroded my teeth and has left them in bad shape at the back. Is there anyway I can build these teeth back up again? I am also aware that people can become models for students in college. I would be happy to do this if I was to recieve good dental treatment. Thankyou for your help. Kind Regards

I would recommend that the best person to give you advice regarding your case is your dentist. It is impossible for me to give you an ideal traetment plan without looking the the mouth.

Tell your concerns to your dentist and they will be able to come up with the best solution.
