My gums are receding and you can now see the posts of my crown, what can I do about this?

Q. My two front teeth were crowned about 10yrs ago, now my gums are receeding and now you can see the post’s at the top of the tooth. What form of treatment would you recomend,
A. Replacing the crowns is usually the best option or grafting of the gum in rarer circumstances

I have today, had two caps fitted, which are brilliant, looks like gold, but I am told that they are constructed of an alloy of two metals. Can anybody tell me what those two metals are.

Hi, im 26 and about a month ago i had a very lage white filling in one of my back lower molers as a small piece of the tooth cracked off due to decay. I have not been able to chew on it at all since but it has not been sensitive to hot and cold, or acheing. However, about a week ago it started to be painful and ache constantly. I have not been able to go without using pain killers during the day and have had a few sleepless nights. I went back to my dentist who adjusted the bite and also put a filling in my back tooth next to it as this had a small hole also. After the local wore off i was in pain again! The tooth can be very tender to touch and my whole jaw can ache at times. I had an emergency dental appointment at another dentist this morning and had an xray. There doesn’t seem to be an abcess or infection but the large fillling looks to have cracked or weakened a little near my gum line. My usual dentist said i will need root canal, however this dentist recommended a crown be fitted! Now i have to wait another week for an appointment with my usual dentist and i have no idea what to ask for! Can anyone recommend anything, im so lost with what to do from here and just what to not be in pain any longer! Thankyou!
